A Mini Vacation

#19 - IBIZA
WHITE DRESS - Mossimo
DENIM VEST - American Eagle
FEDORA - Eugenia Kim for Target
BLACK CLOGS - Forever 21
BELT - New York and Co.
NECKLACE - My grandmother's collection
CUFFS - Made by my mom

Today we are spending the day at the home of my mom, Fair Isle, and stepdad, Henley.  I love coming here because it's like a mini vacation.  I don't know what it is, but I feel like every time I come "home," I seem to revert into a kid.  It's like I become good for nothing.

When I'm at my own house, I'm constantly chasing after the girls, cleaning up, feeding them and trying to get them out of the house to school, classes, playdates, etc. (phew, I'm exhausted just listing this!).  But I come here and I exercise, thumb through magazines, get fed homemade meals (snacks included!), and take naps.  It's fantastic!

Today I went with a "bohemian lite" look to change it up from yesterday's "Southwestern" one (Okay really, I went through my old looks and saw it's been a week since I wore these pieces - including the shoes - so it's time to wear them again).

And yes, I'm being brave wearing white with the kiddos around.  But like I said, I'm on a mini vacation.  Only thing I'm missing is the margarita (salted, on the rocks) and the cabana boy...but he gets off work in an hour!

Pretty dress, love the hat and I'm jealous of your sunshine. We have had rain and no sun in sight for 2 days so far. :(

ps. I love going home too, I get home cook meals from my mom and free meals from my dad..lol

What a pretty dress and cute clogs. I love those mini breaks. You don't have to worry about much, and all your meals are made for you. Parents are the greatest.

oh how fabulous! there's no better feeling than having those brief brushes with childhood again. when I was little I couldn't WAIT to grow up, now I love when I visit my mom and she makes us sandwiches and tells me to go to bed if I'm up reading at like 10. It's so comforting!

I love the belted dress with a vest look! I have never tried that, and I definitely think I will now... giving you the recognition you deserve, of course!

have a great mini vacay :)

I love the bohemian inspiration - it's totally coming through with the white dress (which I also love how you've belted).

That dress is so cute and you look gorgeous in it. I know what you mean about mini vacations. When I come home from school to visit my parents, I always feel like it's a vacation away from homework and exams.

Love your look. I am very inspired to create a similar look with my white maxi dress.
Oh, I totally get the feeling. I love going to my mom's with the kids. They play and take care of the kids and i get to relax. The problem is convincing the kids to leave there. Not a pretty sight.

Ha! It's the same with my parents. They were in town this past weekend, and the running and chasing and feeding of my kid? So not my job for the last couple of days :)

I would totally join you in that margharita! That sounds wonderful!

I think for moms, it can be like that when you have awesome parents. My daughter and I are living with my parents for the time being so it's a little different but before, it totally felt a like a vacation when we were there. I love it!

Your hat is super cute! Love how you manage to juggle being fashionable and being a mom. So many moms don't find the time for themselves to get dressed up.
