The other day I was reading a book with Princess Sparkles about planets and I was talking about Venus.  She turned to me and said, "Mommy, penis is not a planet."  I tried not to laugh, but I couldn't help myself.  I looked over at Camouflage who just shook his head.  He was doing a much better job of holding in his laughter.

I'm really blessed to have some great fathers in my life.  There's my own loving and supportive dad, my helpful and encouraging stepdad (Henley) and my kind-hearted and thoughtful father-in-law.  I also really appreciate how much they love Princess Sparkles and Pigtails.

I'm also so lucky to have such a great husband and partner in Camouflage.  He always thinks of others before himself.  Yesterday he watched Princess Sparkles and Pigtails all day while I helped throw a baby shower and then he let my own father stay over night and hang out with us all Sunday.

Camo is the most wonderful husband and father there is.  Thank you for taking care of our family, loving us and knowing when NOT to laugh at inappropriate phrases!  I love you, Camo!  Happy Father's Day!

Stylish Blogger Award

Yesterday Jess at Avant-Garde Living told me she had given me the Stylish Blogger Award.  This was my first blog award and I was so excited.  Then this morning Albee Lucky gave me the same award!  I couldn't believe it!  2 people actually think I'm stylish!!!

First of all I want to thank these girls and give them props because they are super stylish themselves and it means a lot to have them think of me.   I REALLY appreciate it.  Check them out and you'll see what I mean.

I'd also like to thank my parents for clothing me when I was a kid, my hubby, Camouflage, for letting me have our walk-in closet, and Princess Sparkles and Pigtails for teaching me humility while still wearing heels and a dress.

#16 - DUBLIN
FLORAL DRESS - Forever 21
GREEN BUTTON UP SHIRT - Old Navy
BLACK CARDIGAN - Motherhood
CREAM KNEE HI SOCKS - Forever 21
DAISY STUD HEELED CLOGS - Forever 21

8 THINGS ABOUT MYSELF:

1. Sometimes I like to have dessert before dinner (just to make sure I have room for it!)

2. Sometimes I let Princess Sparkles have dessert before dinner (because I'm a sucker)

3. I don't like anyone lying on my pillow (not even Camouflage)

4. Almost all of my underwear comes from free coupons I get from VICTORIA'S SECRET (and most of the time I don't even buy anything else when I get it)

5. I do most of my grocery shopping at TARGET because I can also look at other stuff (aka "clothes") at the same time

6. Before we got married, I actually asked Camouflage out first because my girlfriend's mom said in passing he'd make a good husband (she was right).

7. I used to make my little sister, Polka Dots, dress up in wigs and costumes then tell my mom, Fair Isle, I made a new friend (Then I'd make Polka Dots perform in my play)

8. I wear sunglasses in all my fashion pictures for my blog because I'm lazy and don't want to put on make-up

Happy Valentine's Day

Cookies we made on Valentine's Day
To celebrate Valentine's Day I went to the DENTIST.  Woohoo!  I don't actually dread going to the dentist (like most people) since I come from a very "dental" family (Polka Dots is an endodontist, my Pops is an orthodontist).  But then...I got a CAVITY.

Cavities suck because...well, they're decay in your tooth and although you're numb, it's like there's a whole CONSTRUCTION ZONE going on in your mouth...loud drilling, spraying water, air suction and a lot of pushing... oh, and don't forget the NEEDLE.  But the worst part was when Princess Sparkles asked me, "Mommy, why don't you brush your teeth?"

Anyway, to celebrate V-day I made a 5 course meal...of LEFTOVERS.  I had actually reheated everything and had it ready to go.  I know, super romantic.  But then Camouflauge came home with an armful of food...ahi tuna, shrimp, salad, fresh bread.  Wow!  So I packed up the leftovers, put them back in the fridge and ate a really yummy meal.  Thanks, Camo!
The yummy shrimp and ahi Camo made for dinner

Camo and I don't really do gifts (though I did buy me that CAbi jacket from him), but I thought maybe we could do something cool like commit to going out to dinner sans kiddos twice a month (since I do need somewhere to wear my outfits).  With kids it's easy to forget about marriage.  You actually have to pencil in time together.  But it's important, kind of like brushing your teeth.  Because if you don't keep up with it on a consistent basis, you could end up with a cavity, and no one wants that!
