Flying Monkey Jeans, Argyle and a Plane Ride

"I wish I could be on a plane forever,"
Pigtails exclaimed as we drove by the airport.
"Mommy, can we go to Jersey again?"
"Why would you want to go to Jersey?"
Princess Sparkles interjected.
"And what's Jersey anyway?  It's New Jersey.  I want to go to Hawaii."
Sounds good to me (except for the part about
being on a plane forever with 3 kids!)

TEAL SWEATER - Loft
SKINNY JEANS - Flying Monkey
BRACELET - Downtown LA
FUR SUEDE BOOTIES - Linea Paolo (thrifted)
HAT - Shop With A Mission (formerly Heavenly Treasures)

OLIVE SUEDE SKIRT - Thrifted
ARGYLE SWEATER - Target
NAVY BOOTIES - Rag and Bone

Here are a few outfits I've worn recently.  In the first, the sweater was a sale purchase from the Loft last year, along with my favorite Flying Monkey jeans, a Shop With A Mission hat and some thrifted Linea Paolo booties.  My sister bought me the cute crossbody purse from Hong Kong.  The second outfit is a thrifted olive suede skirt from my mom, an argyle sweater from Target and my navy Rag and Bone boots.

Princess Sparkles, Bucket and Pigtails - "Flying Superheros"

I love writing, but the last few months I've been doing it a lot, thanks to a couple freelance jobs.  It's made it challenging to keep up with the blog.  Maybe I need a vacation to Jersey, or better yet, Hawaii!  Doesn't really matter, as long as the plane ride doesn't take forever.

Polka Dots, Chambray and a "Slumber" Party

"We're having a slumber party and we need to have pajamas on,"
Princess Sparkles told me as she and Pigtails emerged from their room in outfits.
I asked her about the sunglasses and hat she was also wearing.
"Those are just costume stuff.  It feels like a real party when you dress up."
After I put the girls to bed I kept hearing frivolity coming from their room.
"Good night, girls.  Go to bed."
"But we're having a slumber party," Princess Sparkles said.
I told her that slumber meant to sleep.

Here are a couple outfits from the week.  The polka dot skirt was something I chose from the spring line of eShaktieShakti is awesome because they have tons of adorable clothes to choose from, and they will customize your clothing for you.  It's like having your own personal tailor at the click of a button.  The polka dots on the skirt are different colors which make it match with almost anything.

The girls in their "slumber" party attire

There's something fabulous about having tailored clothing.  They fit better which also means they look better.  And when I dress up in clothes that look good, it feels like I'm at a party, even when I'm just "slumbering" with the kiddos!

Florals, Argyle and Something Personal

"Daddy has so hot laps!"
Pigtails protested when Camouflage offered to brush her teeth.
She always has a unique way of expressing herself.
Whether it's what she says or what she wears
(Pigtails loves pairing polka dots with polka dots or hearts with stripes).
She definitely has confidence and never ceases to entertain me.

BLACK MAXI DRESS - Target, $8
BROWN PONCHO - Forever 21, $4.50
BRACELET - {Share} and Do Good
DREAM CATCHER EARRINGS - iSanctuary
CAMOUFLAGE FLATS - Target

GRAY FLORAL SKINNIES - Target
WHITE T-SHIRT - Target
ARGYLE CARDI - Old Navy
NECKLACE - H&M
BLACK SPIKEY FLATS - Target

Here are a couple outfits from the week.  The black maxi and brown poncho were both on clearance.  The camouflage flats I fell in love with from Target.  I also decided to pair some floral jeans with an argyle cardi, which I'm linking up with "Inspiration Monday."  I had been searching for a pair of spikey black flats and was thrilled when I saw them at... Target.  They're edgy and comfy too!

Pigtails and Bucket check out their new personalized water bottles!

I wanted to give a special thanks to Sarah and Personal Creations for kindly sending my little ones personalized gifts.  There were so many cool things to choose from - personalized backpacks, pillowcases and even nap mats (check 'em out HERE)!  In the end I picked these fabulous water bottles because not only are they cute, they're functional.  They're also big, they don't leak (a serious pet peeve of mine!) and each kid knows which one is theirs!

It's so fun to see how excited my kids get when they get something with their name on it.  Suddenly the item becomes personal and they feel special.  It's kind of like an outfit.  Whether you're pairing florals and argyle or polka dots with polka dots, it's how each person puts it together that makes it unique!

Pattern Mixing - Stripes and Argyle

"Thank you, me!"
Princess Sparkles really appreciates herself.
Especially when she makes chocolate banana pudding.
At least she's polite.

STRIPED HIGH-LOW SKIRT - Target, $7.50
CREAM FLOWER SHIRT - CaBi
ARGYLE CARDIGAN - Old Navy, $15
WEDGES - Payless, $20

I have a new obsession... high-low skirts (I know, I have a lot of obsessions).  Not only are they comfortable, but work well with my nursing tanks and cardigans.  I bought this striped one on clearance from target.com for $7.50!  I thought I'd try "pattern mixing" so I wore it with the argyle cardigan.  The purse is my sister's LV knock off.  But Polka Dots wasn't using it so she lent it to me.

Princess Sparkles eats the dessert she made for everyone.
"Thank you, me!"

I recently ordered three high-low skirts from target.com, this striped one, an ikat one and a coral one.  I figured I'd just keep the one I liked best.  I ended up liking them all... a lot.  So I'm keeping them.  "Thank you, me!!!"

Living at Target - H&M Maternity Dress

GRAY MATERNITY DRESS - H&M
ARGYLE CARDIGAN - Old Navy
BRACELET - H&M
RING - Jewelry Party
BOOTS - Jessica Simpson

"Mommy, can we please live here?"  That's what Princess Sparkles said to me as we roamed through Target perusing the clothing clearance section eating our snacks (Sparkles had mac n' cheese and I had popcorn).  I replied, "You mean at Target?"  She smiled and gave me a nod.  I asked her why she wanted to live at Target and she told me, "so we can eat snacks, play with toys and do dress up!"
The Princess of Target

I recently bought this dress for $10 on the clearance rack of H&M.  They have some of the cutest maternity clothes!  It's so comfy, kind of like wearing a big t-shirt.  I think I'll be wearing a lot of knee high boots this fall because I love them.  They're perfect for dressing up anything, from shorts to dresses.

Honestly, Princess Sparkles might be on to something.  With the amount of clothing, albeit from the clearance rack, and all the groceries, presents and toiletries I buy from Target, we may as well live there!
