Red Leather Skirt, Denim Cut-Offs and a Charmer

"Way to teach your son a lesson,"
Camouflage said as I laughed while scolding Bucket.
I was giving him my "stern look" when he raised his eyebrows up and down.
Now that he's a year and a half, he's a handful of trouble.
The girls cry when they get in trouble.
But not Bucket
He flashes a smile or gives the eyebrow raise.

STRIPED TANK - TJ Maxx, $13
RED LEATHER PENCIL SKIRT - Thrifted
BLACK BOOTIES - Target
BRACELETS - iSanctuary
ROBOT NECKLACE - Carpe Diem

TANK, BRACELET - Kohls, Swapped from Gingham
DENIM CUT OFFS - Habitual, Swapped from Fedora
BROWN CARDIGAN - Loft
NECKLACE - Cynde Daniels
OPEN TOE BOOTIES - Joe's Jeans via Loehmanns

Here's what I wore... The stripes I got on clearance at TJ Maxx and the red leather skirt my mom thrifted.  The other outfit is mostly swapped.  I got the shorts from Fedora.  They were actually boyfriend jeans and I cut and frayed them.  The tank came from Gingham and the booties I got on clearance at Loehmanns.

Tell me, could you get mad at this face?!!

I love a swap.  It's maybe as good if not better than thrifting.  Because not only do you clean out your own closet *eyebrow raise*, but you can get fun little treasures for free that you don't feel bad about if you only wear once.  *Smile*

Red Prabal Gurung for Target Dress and a Sign

"Do NOT do this!"
Princess Sparkles wrote on a sign for Bucket.
Bucket recently hurt his thumb after playing with canned food.
Camouflage asked Sparkles to make sure her brother didn't go into the pantry.
She obliged by creating her sign and taping it to the door.
Of course Bucket completely disregarded it.

RED DRESS - Prabal Gurung for Target (thrifted)
BROWN AND BLACK BELT - Tory Burch (thrifted)
EARRINGS - Heavenly Treasures
BRACELETS - iSancturary
NUDE CAGE HEELS - Kelsi Dagger

WHITE JEANS, BLACK T-SHIRT, SPIKED FLATS - Target
LEATHER ORANGE BELT - Dimensions (thrifted)
NECKLACE - M Haskell via Ross
RED PURSE - B Makowsky
BRACELET - iSanctuary
WATCH - Michael Kors

Here are a few outfits from the week.  I recently bought this Prabal Gurung for Target dress at Goodwill for half off.  I decided I'd pair it with a Tory Burch belt my mom, Fair Isle, thrifted for me and some nude cage heels I found on clearance for $11.  I was trying to be unexpected by not wearing black accessories.  I also wore white skinnies and a black t-shirt.  Trying to make it interesting I paired it with a thrifted orange belt and necklace Fair Isle and Henley bought me for Mother's Day.

Bucket eats berries with his injured thumb :(

A belt is the ultimate "supporting" accessory.  It's never the "star" of an outfit, but without it the look would not be complete.  Not only does it make everything look fabulous, it's also functional.  So even if you think no one can see it, do NOT disregard the belt.

Stripes, Camouflage and FREE SUNGLASSES!

"I'm gonna be a fireman when I grow up,"
Princess Sparkles informed me as we drove around.
"What are you gonna be, [Pigtails]?"
Princess Sparkles asked her sister.
"Be a fireman too so we can work together."
Pigtails shook her head.
"When I grow up I'm gonna be a pretty girl. With a bow."

STRIPED BLAZER - The Loft
RED JEANS - BDG via Urban Outfitters
BLACK T-SHIRT - Alternative Apparel
CHEVRON NECKLACE, BRACELET - iSanctuary
PLATFORMS - Qupid via Charlotte Russe

SWEATER - Narcisco Rodriguez for Kohl (hand-me-down)
CAMOUFLAGE PANTS - Old Navy
CAGE HEELS - Vince Camuto (thrifted)
SUNGLASSES - c/o Firmoo

Here are a couple outfits from the week.  The first was something inspired by "Inspiration Monday" from Two Birds.  I decided to wear my $19 BDG red jeans from Urban Outfitters with a striped blazer from the Loft.  To keep it from feeling too conservative I wore platforms and a t-shirt.  The second outfit is something I ran around in.  The sweater is a recent hand-me-down from my friend, Gingham.  And the shoes are Vince Camuto, thrifted new from Goodwill.

Recently, when the company Firmoo asked me to review a pair of sunglasses I was thrilled.  I LOVE SUNGLASSES!!!  I chose these green ones because I liked that they were neutral yet fun.  They also have small details that make them especially fabulous, like the ombre bottom of the frame and the cute little bow.  And right now Firmoo is offering you a FREE PAIR OF SUNGLASSES!  That's right, your first pair is free, (all you have to do is pay for shipping!).  They have a huge selection.  They also have prescription eyeglasses as well.  So hurry, go check out Firmoo and order your free pair.

The Fireman and the Pretty Girl with glow in the dark glasses.

The thing I love about sunglasses (besides that they look cute) is they're great for hiding things like wrinkles, bags and lack of make-up.  They also make a great headband when you're having a bad hair day.  And I really love these Firmoo sunglasses because although I'm a tired momma of three, they make me feel like a pretty girl (with a bow!).

Burgundy Cowboy Boots, An Anorak and Valentine's Day Pretzel Wreaths

"Can I keep these to remember you by?"
Pigtails asked my mom, Fair Isle, holding up a bag of M&Ms.
We were getting ready to leave grandma's, where the treats flow in abundance.
Because at home I try to limit sugary snacks... To bribing.
Otherwise how else would I get them to clean up toys or get in the car?

BLACK ANORAK - Last Chance Boutique

Polka Dot French Manicure Nails for Valentine's Day

Here are two outfits I wore today.  The first one I wore to church.  The dress was from a swap and thanks to "Inspiration Monday" from Two Birds, I paired it with an anorak and motorcycle boots.  The second outfit I wore to a 6-year old birthday party at Scooter's Jungle.

Decorating Valentine's Day pretzel wreaths
with cookies, candy and white chocolate.

Our finished Valentine's Day pretzel wreaths.  Yum!

I'm still madly obsessed with nail art.  I change it up every few days.  It's a fun way to accessorize without spending much money.  To me it's the perfect treat!

Red Jeans, Green Sweater and Wings

"Santa, I love you, Santa!"
Pigtails looked up to the sky and shouted after seeing her gifts.
This was a complete 180 from last year when she saw Santa and ran away.
Bucket decided he would start walking for Christmas.
And Princess Sparkles, who got her pixie dust, let me know,
"Next year I'm going to ask Santa for wings."
Good thing I have a year to work on that one.

CONTRAST LEATHER JACKET - Foreign Exchange, $29
TURQUOISE SWEATER - Loft, $20
CHEVRON LEGGINGS - Loehmanns, $5
LEATHER BOOTS - White Mountain, $14 (thrifted)

RED JEANS - BDG via Urban Outfitters, $19
STRIPED SWEATER - Old Navy, $8
BROWN HEELS - Forever 21

Here are a couple red and green outfits I wore over the holidays.  I got a couple cute sweaters from the Loft, for 50% off!  The leggings are from Loehmanns when my sister, Polka Dots, and I went at midnight for a 50% off sale.  The contrast leather coat I got at the after Christmas sale from Foreign Exchange.  I was excited to wear my $19 BDG red jeans with the $8 sweater I got from Old Navy last year while I was pregnant.

The after Christmas shopping was especially fabulous this year with the 50% off sales going on everywhere.  We didn't go away for the holidays, but it was nice to have some time off from our usual hectic schedule.  But now that we're back I'm having trouble adjusting (hence not blogging for almost a month!).  I can't seem to get anywhere on time.  Maybe I need to get me some wings!

Tribal Print, Zebra Print and Pure Yumminess

"You are my yummy girls,"
I told Princess Sparkles and Pigtails as we sat on the couch.
"No," Pigtails replied.  "You're not eating me!"
I laughed and planted a big juicy one on that delicious cheek!

Monday's Inspiration - Kate Bosworth

This week I'm participating in "Fashion Challenge: This or That Trends" from Megan Mae Daily and Casual Chic Kiki.  Because I don't blog everyday, I thought I'd try putting a couple of the trends together - solid brights, bold prints, tribal prints and platforms!  I got this colorful top from a friend for my birthday.  I love the beaded details on the neckline.  The jeans were on sale at Urban Outfitters and they fit so comfortably!  The platforms are JC knock-offs from GoJane and they give me 4-5 more inches.

Here's another outfit I wore for "Inspiration Monday" too from the lovely ladies at Two Birds.  It's a zebra pleated midi skirt and my favorite t-shirt brand, Alternative Apparel.  The necklace was another wonderful gift from my mom, who handmade it!

Camouflage feeds our yummy girls a yummy peach.

I love doing fashion challenges and inspiration link-ups because they inspire me to wear my clothes in different ways.  I really enjoy wearing bold colors and prints, especially tribal ones!  They're just so darn yummy!

Leopard Print Skinny Jeans and Fashionable Lizard Hunters

"Come on Pigtails, let's get him!"
I peeked outside and saw...
Princess Sparkles holding an empty peanut can.
"What are you doing?"
"We're trying to catch a lizard."
Then Sparkles got on the ground to climb through plants
in her new tutu dress...

LEOPARD SKINNY JEANS - Target, $23
BLACK NURSING TANK - Target
CHARCOAL JACKET - Old Navy, $6
RED PURSE - B Makowsky
NUDE FLATS - Me Too (Thrifted), $7
Inspiration Monday from Two Birds Boutique:
Miranda Kerr

I know it's Wednesday but I'm just now getting to my "Inspiration Monday" outfit post (though I did wear it on Monday).  Lately time seems to fly by me and I can barely keep up!  These leopard skinnies are from Target.  They weren't on sale but they were so cute and fit comfortably.  The jacket I got on clearance for $6 at Old Navy last year, and the Me Too flats were new when I thrifted them from GW.

Pigtails and Princess Sparkles, fashionable lizard hunters.
Although my daily life consists of chauffering kids, grocery shopping, nursing and changing poop, I try to take a page from my fashionable lizard hunters and "dress up."  I might not have anywhere special to go to, but I can still look like I do!
