Steve Madden Coleton Boots, Sanctuary Fur Vest and a Birthday Boy

"Mmm, cake.  Delicious."
Bucket said as I gave him a birthday cupcake.
Bucket loves to eat.  Unfortunately it's not always from a plate.
I'll find him grabbing snacks from his car seat, the floor,
a restaurant booth, even the bottom of his shoe!
I recently took him off dairy, then found him
hiding in the pantry eating cheese crackers.
Oh Bucket, what am I going to do with you?!

GRAY DRESS - BCBG (thrifted), $9
FUR VEST - Sanctuary (via Nordstrom)
EARRINGS - iSanctuary
BOOTS - Steve Madden

DENIM JACKET - Gap Outlet, $13
GRAY EMBELLISHED TANK - Phillip Lim for Target, $6
BROWN LEGGINGS - Express
EARRINGS - iSanctuary
BOOTS - Steve Madden

Here are a few recent outfits.  The first is what I wore to my cousin's baby shower.  The BCBG dress is thrifted from GW and I paired it with my Sanctuary fur vest I price matched at Nordstrom.  The second outfit is a Philip Lim for Target top I found on clearance for $6 and a denim jacket from the Gap outlet I got for $13.  The boots are Steve Madden and I also found them at the outlets.

Birthday Boy, Bucket, and his dairy free frosting goatee

My Steve Madden boots are absolutely delicious.  I love how they're rugged yet fitted and match with practically everything.  They're also so comfortable.  Even though they're new they look worn, kinda like a cracker on the bottom of Bucket's shoe.

4th of July Outfit, Feather Print Shorts and Cheese

"Cheeeeeeese!!!"
Bucket says when I pull out my camera.
He loves to turn on the charm.
He also loves Pigtails' silver glitter ballet flats.
Who can blame him.

NAVY & RED STRIPED PEPLUM - Urban Outfitters
WHITE DENIM SHORTS - Gap
BRACELET - J Crew (gifted)
AQUA WEDGES - Target (thrifted)

FEATHER PRINT CUT-OFFS - Jessica Simpson (via Macys)
LIGHT CHAMBRAY SHIRT - American Eagle
DREAM CATCHER EARRINGS - iSanctuary
OPEN TOE BOOTIES - Charlotte Russe

Here are a few looks from the week.  The first outfit I put together in anticipation of "4th of July."  The top I got for $10 at Urban Outfitters.  I asked Princess Sparkles if I should wear chestnut wedges or aqua ones and she said the aqua ones were more interesting.  The second outfit includes a pair of feather print cut offs I got at Macys for $6.  I love wearing booties with shorts!  Linking both of these outfits up to "Inspiration Monday" from Two Birds.

Bucket dancing around in Pigtails' glitter shoes

Cheeeeeeeeese!!!

I was excited to find a way to change up the typical patriotic outfit.  I love an unexpected twist - like mixing "interesting" aqua wedges with red, white and blue, or a baby boy flashing a cheesy smile in some silver glitter ballet flats.

Layers: Long Over Long and "Quiet" TV Time

"Does anyone know where the TV remote is?"
I asked but didn't expect the girls to know.
"Momma, come he-ya, come he-ya,"
Pigtails shouted as she ran to my bedroom.
Guess the girl was desperate to watch a show...
(please don't judge, my girls have actually learned stuff
AND it's kept me from going completely insane).

STRIPED SKIRT - Old Navy, $15
BROWN TOP - Gap Maternity (hand-me-down)
NAVY CARDIGAN - Express, $15
ANIMAL PRINT NECKLACE - Cynde Daniels
NUDE BALLET FLATS - Me Too, $8 (thrifted)

Today I'm linking up to "Fashion Challenge: Layer Up," hosted by Megan Mae Daily and Casual Chic Kiki.  They always come up with something really creative!  This is actually tomorrow's challenge, "long over long" (today was "cropped over long" but the cropped wasn't looking great with my pregnant belly hanging out), so I decided to go with a maxi skirt from Old Navy and a long cardigan.  I also wore a long necklace for extra credit.  The Me Too flats are leather and a thrifted treasure I got from GW!

My TV junkies having some "quiet time" at Fair Isle's house

I've had a long day and it's still early!  Princess Sparkles had a dentist appointment that didn't go so well (and I cried in front of everyone - seriously embarrassing).  Then Pigtails decided to take off her own poopy diaper...again.  Maybe I'm just pregnant and tired.  Really tired.  I think I need to throw on some sweats, turn on the TV and veg myself!

Patterned Leggings and a Junk Bed

Princess Sparkles loves her new bunk bed.
She now goes to sleep at night willingly.  Yay!
She likes to "protect" her bed with lots of dolls and animals.
It actually looks more like a junk bed than a bunk bed :)

Monday's Inspiration - Taylor Swift

PATTERNED LEGGINGS - Mix It (JC Penney), $5
BLACK TOP - Gap Maternity (hand-me-down)
CREAM CARDIGAN - Old Navy
BRACELETS - Forever 21, Cynde Daniels
PURSE, CUFF - Heavenly Treasures
HAT - Made by my mom
BOOTS - Frye (gifted)

I'm back in leggings, boots and a sweater thanks to "Inspiration Monday" from Two Birds.  I went with a cardigan because it's warm here.  This 20's style hat a favorite my mom, Fair Isle, knitted for me.  And these Frye boots are so comfy.  I'm so thankful my sister-in-law, Argyle, gifted me with them!  The Heavenly Treasures purse is from Thailand, and it's been so versatile for me since so many of my maternity outfits have been neutrals!

The new bunk bed (after limiting Sparkles to 10 "friends" to slumber with)

Both girls were born on Saturdays so Camouflage and I thought it was possible the baby might come over the weekend. But baby stayed put for now.  It could be any day now which is good since even my maternity clothes are starting to NOT fit.  Once the third arrives Camo and I too are going to need to limit the number of guests in our bed, otherwise no one's going to get good sleep!!!

Happy New Year - Knee High Socks and A Slide

"Weeeeeee!!!"  Pigtails exclaimed as her figurines went down the "slide."
I recently went to the GAP and found a fabulous pair of heels for $6 (originally $80!).
Of course they weren't my size but they did fit my sister, Polka Dots
Because somebody needed to have those shoes I bought them for her.
Pigtails liked them too and so did her dolls!

MATERNITY SWEATER - Vince
TANK TOP - Gap Maternity
LEGGINGS - Forever 21
KNEE HIGH SOCKS - Nordstrom
HAT - Albertus Swanepoel for Target
SUEDE BOOTS - Jessica Simpson
Monday's Inspiration: Eva Longoria

"Gung hei fa choi!" To those of you who celebrate Chinese New Year, I hope that the year of the dragon is a prosperous one!

Today was a cold rainy day. I'm sure the rest of the country would laugh at us Californians for even calling it cold (except maybe for Hawaii). I was very happy to participate in Two Bird's "Monday Inspiration" since I could wear a cozy sweater, leggings, warm socks and boots. I also love wearing a hat on rainy days!

Leather/Linen heels on clearance for $6 at the GAP

Wee!  Pigtails uses Polka Dots' shoes as a slide.

I wish our weather would make up it's mind.  Tomorrow is supposed to be sunny and in the 70's.  You might even find me in shorts and a t-shirt at the park.  Pigtails' figurines won't be the only ones going down the slide!

Asymmetric Maternity Dress, Black Leather Jacket and Leopard Heels

OLIVE DRESS - Gap Maternity
BLACK FAUX LEATHER JACKET - Loehmanns
NECKLACE - GS Lillian
LEOPARD HEELS - GoJane
COPPER GLITTER NAIL POLISH - Lippman Collection

For me, Halloween kicks off the holiday season, which means Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Years is right around the corner (and this year, an upcoming baby!).  It also means I need to start my Christmas shopping.  I really enjoy shopping for others and figuring out the perfect gift for them.  I make lists and sometimes get obsessive, buying and returning a few things first before settling on one gift!  The bad thing about Christmas shopping... I always find things I "need."

Here's the outfit I wore Saturday night to a dinner for a friend's film.  I wore this Gap maternity dress I found on clearance for $8.  I loved that it was asymmetric.  I decided to pair it with the versatile leather jacket and my leopard heels (which I got some compliments on but also some "be careful pregnant lady" comments as well).  I also wore this amazing glitter nail polish that I won from a magazine!!!

How Princess Sparkles decorates my dresser

Anyway, the holidays are so fun with the kids.  Watching them light up when they see a house with lights or a tree with ornaments makes me happy.  And buying them presents is almost better than getting myself a pair of shoes!

Albertus Swanpoel for Target Hat and a Halloween Parade

WHITE TANK - Zoe Clothing Co.
GREEN PANTS - GAP Maternity
GRAY JACKET - Old Navy
CUFF - Heavenly Treasures
PURPLE/BROWN FEDORA - Albertus Swanpoel for Target
Monday's Inspiration - Jaime King

Saturday I took Princess Sparkles and Pigtails to a costume parade at a local senior home.  It started out with Sparkles putting on some dress, wings and heels.  She told me, "I don't want to be a mermaid, I want to be a Princess Fairy."  Basically she was wearing her everyday clothes.  I tried to get her to put the mermaid costume she had for Halloween on but it was a battle I wasn't going to win.

Another battle I wasn't going to win was Pigtails wearing the cute goldfish costume my mom, Fair Isle, made for her.  She wasn't having it and I tried really hard but she just lied down and screamed.

An unhappy goldfish
Today's "Inspiration Monday" from Two Birds is Jaime King.  I really want a pair of red maternity jeans though I feel like I shouldn't.  So the only "colorful" maternity jeans I have are these green ones.  I decided to pair it with my adorable "Green Flower" tank from Zoe Clothing Co who also happens to be hosting a generous $50 Giveaway on my blog (so go here and enter now!).  This jacket I got on the Old Navy clearance rack for $11 and I went to Target early on Sunday morning to pick up the Albertus Swanpoel for Target hats.  I got 4!!!  This purple and brown one is my favorite one!

Anyway, I'm really excited about Halloween!  It's so much fun seeing all the kids in their costumes and watching them trick or treat.  Although, not really sure which costume Princess Sparkles will choose for the day and if Pigtails will even wear a costume at all!  Either way it'll still be a fun one!

GAP Maternity Wrap Dress and Jeffrey Campbell Wedge Booties

BLUE WRAP DRESS - GAP Maternity
WEDGE BOOTIES - Jeffrey Campbell
SNAKESKIN WRAP BRACELET - Made by my mom
FRINGE PURSE - Last Chance Boutique

WEEK 23!!!

"I'm not wearing any panties!"  Princess Sparkles announced to her entire gymnastics class.  I was horrified as I read that in a text from an embarrassed Camouflage.  Poor Camo, nothing like hearing your daughter announce something like that, especially when you innocently had no idea.  Earlier Sparkles had woken me from a nap with Pigtails, "Momma I peed in my pants."  Luckily it wasn't anything major (probably just a small leak while trying to get on the toilet) but I changed her pants anyway and was too lazy to throw on another pair of underwear.  I've learned my lesson...

Here is the maternity dress I wore to the 4th birthday party of Fancy's son, Elvis, on Saturday.  It's one of the dresses I bought on clearance this third time around.  The pattern sort of reminds me of an animal print.  I paired it with my favorite Jeffrey Campbell shoes.  I love these because they make me really tall and yet they're so comfortable.  I know I'm 23 weeks pregnant, but I just can't stop wearing big shoes!

Anyway, Princess Sparkles wanted to be part of my pictures (obviously), and in fact took over the entire photo shoot.  At least in these she has built in shorts with her denim skirt (she added the hat and did her own poses).  And thank goodness, she's wearing panties so there won't be any "oops" in these!
