Leather Maxi, Denim Vest and A Little Danger

"I'm in a hurry, so I'm not going to stop the car...
I'll just drive by [Fair Isle's] house slowly and you girls jump out,"
I told Princess Sparkles and Pigtails on the way to my mom's.
Pigtails nodded, Sparkles' furrowed her brow.
"Make sure you stay in a ball and roll when you hit the ground."
Then Sparkles smiled and laughed.
"Everything you say that's dangerous I won't believe. You're teasing!"
I told Sparkles she was too smart for me.
As for Pigtails, she seemed a bit disappointed.

T-SHIRT - New York and Co (swapped)
OMBRE DENIM VEST - Forever 21
BRACELET - J Crew (gifted)
FLORAL WEDGES - Chinese Laundry (thrifted)

This past weekend I brought down some of my spring clothes.  I was excited to find my ombre denim vest and decided to pair it with a black leather maxi my mom, Fair Isle, thrifted.  I also wore some girly hawaiian print wedges I got at the Goodwill.  The beautiful bracelet is a present from Argyle and Khakis (my sister and brother-in-law).  Linking this outfit up to "Inspiration Monday" from Two Birds.

Pigtails and Sparkles get a hug from a python...

I've been in a leather wearing mood lately, and where better to wear a black leather maxi than church?  I love pairing something edgy with something girly.   It just feels... Dangerous.

Florals, Argyle and Something Personal

"Daddy has so hot laps!"
Pigtails protested when Camouflage offered to brush her teeth.
She always has a unique way of expressing herself.
Whether it's what she says or what she wears
(Pigtails loves pairing polka dots with polka dots or hearts with stripes).
She definitely has confidence and never ceases to entertain me.

ARGYLE CARDI - Old Navy

BLACK SPIKEY FLATS - Target

Here are a couple outfits from the week.  The black maxi and brown poncho were both on clearance.  The camouflage flats I fell in love with from Target.  I also decided to pair some floral jeans with an argyle cardi, which I'm linking up with "Inspiration Monday."  I had been searching for a pair of spikey black flats and was thrilled when I saw them at... Target.  They're edgy and comfy too!

Pigtails and Bucket check out their new personalized water bottles!

I wanted to give a special thanks to Sarah and Personal Creations for kindly sending my little ones personalized gifts.  There were so many cool things to choose from - personalized backpacks, pillowcases and even nap mats (check 'em out HERE)!  In the end I picked these fabulous water bottles because not only are they cute, they're functional.  They're also big, they don't leak (a serious pet peeve of mine!) and each kid knows which one is theirs!

It's so fun to see how excited my kids get when they get something with their name on it.  Suddenly the item becomes personal and they feel special.  It's kind of like an outfit.  Whether you're pairing florals and argyle or polka dots with polka dots, it's how each person puts it together that makes it unique!

Floral Dr. Martens, Chambray and a Mustache

"I was cute as a baby but I'm cuter now,"
Princess Sparkles informed me.
I asked her if she thinks Bucket will get cuter with age too.
"No, I don't think so."
I laughed and asked her why.
"Because he'll have a mustache.  I can tell."

FLORAL PRINT BOOTS - Dr. Martens

DENIM SHIRT - For Joseph (thrifted)

Here are a couple outfits from the past week.  I had been coveting an Alternative Apparel maxi then saw this Target one on clearance for $8 so I snatched it up (also got one in gray!).  The floral docs I got for $30 at Nordstrom (after price matching from Urban Outfitters and using gift card money).  The chambray shirt I got at a local thrift store and the wedge sneakers are from Target (of course!).

The Little Man

I'm so excited about my new Dr. Martens.  Back in high school they only had black or oxblood ones (I had the former).  But now they have all sorts of colors and patterns, like my floral ones.  Dr. Martens have definitely gotten cuter with age!

Brown Maxi Dress and a Trip to Hawaii

"I want water!"
Pigtails demanded as we lined up for the wedding ceremony.
I told her I would get it as soon as she went down the aisle.
Princess Sparkles began walking...alone.
"The flower girl is running away!"
Camouflage overheard a wedding guest say.
"That must be her mother."
Everyone turned to see me running across the grass after her.  Sigh.

BROWN MAXI DRESS - thrifted
PURPLE FRINGE HEELS - Steve Madden (thrifted)
LEATHER CUFF - made by my mom

This is the thrifted maxi dress I wore to the wedding.  It has a 70's vibe and allowed for me to eat as much as I wanted at the Hawaiian buffet.  Purple sweet potatoes, kahlua pork, mochiko chicken... YUM!!!

In the end the wedding went well.  The girls had fun at the reception.  Princess Sparkles danced a lot and Pigtails enjoyed sitting in between the bride and groom (yes, she asked the groom to move so she could squeeze in next to my cousin).

The trip to Hawaii was packed with fun... beautiful beaches, swimming pools, water slides, shave ice, sea turtles, pineapples, and family!  Of course nothing went as planned (i.e. the wedding ceremony), but in the end everything turned out just right.

eShakti Floral Maxi Dress and "Bed Bugs"

Besides playing dress up and doing dance shows,
Princess Sparkles and Pigtails really like to play with bugs.
They like to dig them up and keep them as "pets."
They even use leaves to "put them to bed."
This is not my favorite activity but as long as it keeps them busy
(and they keep them OUTSIDE)
then I'm happy they're happy.

FLORAL MAXI DRESS - c/o eShakti
LACE JACKET, BELT, SHOES - Forever 21
BRACELET - Jewelry by Cynde Daniels
PEARL CLUSTER RING - Heavenly Treasures

Today's "Inspiration Monday" from Two Birds is Michelle Trachtenberg in a maxi dress and denim jacket.  I was thrilled since I just got a new maxi dress from eShakti.  Still being in "post pregnancy" form, I decided to go with a stretchy one.  As soon as I saw this one-shoulder floral maxi, I knew this is the one I wanted!  It's the perfect length and oh so cute.  The only issue I had is it's a tad big.  I did take my measurements, but because the fabric is stretchy I could've sized down.  However, with the help of a belt, I was able to fix the situation!

Some gorgeous dresses I'm eyeing from eShakti:

eShakti is a great online store with plenty to choose from.  What makes eShakti so special is they customize their clothing - length, sleeves, even necklines!!!  They have so many cute fabrics and styles, something for every size and shape.  I really appreciated that they asked me my height for this maxi dress and then made it accordingly!  And they're so affordable, especially right now while they're having an amazing 4th of July sale!

Pigtails and Princess Sparkles put their bugs to bed

It's so hard to find a maxi dress just the right length so it's really exciting when you find a store that will customize it for you!  Because while some little princesses like to collect bugs, I have an affinity for maxi dresses!

Jeffrey Campbell Snakeskin Platforms, High Low Skirt and a Backseat Driver

"No red lights!  No red lights!"
Princess Sparkles chanted from the back seat as we drove home from school.
Bucket kept crying everytime we stopped so she wanted me to keep driving.
She even encouraged me to run the light, which I didn't do.
Sometimes it's an entire symphony in the back seat, with Pigtails crying too.
I've learned to tune it out, or at least turn the radio up a bit :)

TURQUOISE TRIBAL DOLMAN TOP- Old Navy, $5
BLACK HIGH LOW MAXI SKIRT - Alternative Apparel (via Anonymous LA)

SNAKESKIN WOODEN PLATFORM - Jeffrey Campbell (via Urban Outfitters), $39

"Inspiration Monday" from Two Birds - Louise Roe

Purple French Manicure
OPI - Purple with a Purpose, Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear - Lacey Lilac

Thanks to "Inspiration Monday" I decided to wear a skirt and another tribal print top.  I recently did some shopping in the Old Navy clearance section where I got this top for $5 (thanks to 30% extra off clearance)!  I also shopped at Anonymous LA since I won a $50 gift card for blogging about them a few months ago.  I got this comfy high low maxi skirt which I loooooovvve!!!  The skirt is the perfect piece to wear with my Jeffrey Campbell snakeskin wooden block platforms.  I saw the JCs online at Urban Outfitters for $40 (on clearance and with an additional coupon).  At that price I had to snatch them up!

Princess Sparkles makes a wish, "Please make my brother stop crying!"

I've been having some really fun shopping trips lately.  I'm pretty thrifty most of the time, but every once in a while I go a little crazy.  Maybe I need a few shopping "red lights" in my life.  Nah!
