3 Ways to Wear a Chambray Shirt

This past weekend we visited Camouflage's parents, who offered to babysit Pigtails and Princess Sparkles. OF COURSE, we took them up on it since we hadn't seen a movie in... can't even remember (NOTE TO THOSE SANS CHILDREN: enjoy the small things in life like going out to dinner, seeing movies, or sleeping through the night without interruptions like crying or asking you to clean up their poop, because if and when you ever have kids, your life will be changed forever...and not always in good ways).

Hoping to see "THE KING'S SPEECH," we drove to the theater (okay, rushed, because anytime anyone offers to babysit and we want to see a movie, we have to either time it right so they don't end up watching our kids for HOURS, or we have to see whatever movie is playing at that time, even if it's a movie about Justin Bieber).  But on our way there, Camo and I decided we were both exhausted and didn't want to pass out in the theater. In the end we went to the mall and shopped (I know this sounds boring, but believe me, when you have kids, the simple things in life are "special" when you can do them in peace).

Later that night we got home and Camo's brother, Slacks, called.  Ironically, he and Argyle offered to babysit.  Uh, yeah... we said YES (don't worry, we admitted to them we had already had a "date" earlier).  Rushing to see "THE KING'S SPEECH" yet again, we decided it would probably be better if we went to dinner. In the end, after not being able to make a decision (and a few other mishaps) we decided on a hot dog truck. We sat outside on a nearby wall, ate fancy hot dogs with cheesy tater tots, and chatted away.

It was simple, good, and relaxing.  Kind of like the CHAMBRAY DENIM SHIRT I styled three ways!

I am loving your style tricks here! They are all so different in their own way, it's hard to chose, but I think my fav is the first one, classic cardigan! I need to buy a new chambray shirt, thank you for reminding me!

(yes are bargains the best?! I still can't believe I found that $7 dress!)

OMG! In terms of being a mom/parent, I know exactly what you mean! I am lucky enough to have a nice helper and SC's mom is always willing to babysit baby Marcus...

Talk about a great day! The only thing that could make it better would be a fabulous foot massage. You can always catch a movie on dvd ( I love the pause button) Love your new feature with the flashing pictures

I love these '3 ways' posts that you do. THey are all so cool and different. Last outfit shows the shirt the best. But loving the layers of the first one.

Thanks so much for stopping by my blog, Claire. I appreciate the kind comments.

I really like all three ways you've styled this shirt. I've been hesitant to buy one because I am never sure what to do with it, but you've given me some great ideas. I especially love looks 1 and 3.

I just bought a chambray shirt so this is really helpful! I love the belted over the shift dress look! It's my favorite, but they're all great! Such a versatile piece to have in one's wardrobe as you have so expertly illustrated!

OK, we did the exact same thing on our last date night -- dinner and shopping and we even had time for dessert. It was amazing. Can't wait to to do it again. :)

Love the shirt ideas too--especially since I just bought one and have yet to wear it.

you and camo are so funny! i kinda wish you were "forced" to get bieber fever, but alas shopping without the kiddos and a yummy food truck meal is almost as good ;)
i like the 1st outfit, but i think number 2 is so you.
