Mixed Print Scrapbook Dress, Military Jacket and Fringe Purse - Inspiration Monday

MIXED PATTERN DRESS - Scrapbook
MILITARY JACKET - Nick & Mo (similar)
LEATHER CUFF - Made by my Mom
SUNGLASSES - Ralph Lauren (similar)
OPEN TOE BOOTIES - Charlotte Russe
FRINGE PURSE - Last Chance Boutique (similar)
THE INSPIRATION:
Emma Stone in Joie Dress

Princess Sparkles wants a pet.  Unfortunately her mommy is allergic to almost every kind of animal with fur, feathers or scales (okay, not scales, but I don't really love snakes unless they're a pattern on my shoes...or belt...or handbag).  So Princess Sparkles improvises by taking a stuffed animal and carrying it around in it's "pet box."  It makes her happy and it makes me happy to know she can work with something she already has.

Princess Sparkles' "Pet Box"
Today's "Monday Inspiration" from the ladies at Two Birds is Emma Stone.  I liked the dress, though didn't have anything like it with geometric shapes (how can that be?  Maybe I need to go shopping!).  So instead I wore this semi-floral/semi-tribal print dress.  And because it didn't really look great with the motorcycle jacket I have, I decided to go with a military one.  Okay, so maybe it's not at all like Emma Stone's outfit.  But I did wear boots!

Anyway, I really was inspired by the picture.  It got me thinking.  And so I improvised, coming up with an outfit I might've not thought of otherwise.  I guess I too am quite capable of working with what I got!

Your house sounds like my house. My kids are constantly beggin' for a pet. Any pet. Makes me laugh though because in reality they are scared to death of animals, especially dogs - but a dog is what they are constatlly begging for.

I love how you used layers for this outfit. And I love the military jacket. I'm so sad that the weather is warmer now because that means it is time to give up my military jacket for the season. :( They are the best to throw over almost any outfit to give it an edgy, tough look.
Sigh.
Sad face.

I think sometimes that's how the best outfits are made--you start with one idea and then just start playing around. Anyway, I love what you came up with! Those boots are awesome, by the way.

Nice post...I live how you wound back around to your theme of working with what you've got. Isn't that the beauty of inspiration monday? It makes you pair things you wouldn't otherwise have and come up with something totally new. I REALLY like your look. I love the boots, the fringe purse, the dress, the jacket, it's all good! Love the look! It seems like the whole thing is more about getting an inspiration from the look than just copying the actual look, and I think it definitely worked for you :)

Your appearance is very nice and pretty, your little princess is very cute. thank you for your comment, dragons bite is very dangerous, there is no cure if you get bitten dragons. simply knowing the course, there are ancient animals such as dragons that live in this world.

Hey! Thanks so mcuh for following! :)

I really, really like your outfit!! I love summer dresses with fall jackets... so cute!

Also, you're totally right- it doesn't really matter if its not exactly like Emma's, because like you said, you created an outfit you wouldn't have otherwise thought of. And really, that's the whole objective when it comes to inspiration.

Its not very creative when bloggers look at a celeb and copy their outfit piece by piece, and honestly, I like your interpretation more than Emma Stone's. Great post!
