Remixing an Old Favorite - Olive Dress

OLIVE DRESS - Gap Outlet
WHITE DENIM JACKET - Bill Blass (thrifted)
EARRINGS, BELT - Forever 21
ORANGE BOOTIES - Go Jane

How I Wore The Olive Dress Back In March
GRAY MOTO JACKET - H&M
PLAID INFINITY SCARF - Made by my mom
BLACK LEGGINGS - Old Navy
OPEN TOE BOOTS - Charlotte Russe
It's "Remix Week," the fashion challenge put on by Megan Mae at "Megan Mae Daily" and Keely at "Casual Chic Kiki."  Today I decided to remix a simple olive dress that I actually wore during my first 30 Day Remix.  I paired it with a thrifted white denim jacket, a belt and my new orange boots (totally Jeffrey Campbell knock offs) from GoJane.com.  Oh, and I accessorized with a beautiful flower from Princess Sparkles.  She came home from a picnic and said, "Mommy I have a surprise for you.  Close your eyes."  And she handed me the beautiful sunflower.  It really made my day.

Today I'm recovering from a long weekend.  A really long weekend.  We spent Saturday cleaning up and prepping the house for Sparkles' birthday party.  I didn't go overboard like I have the last three years, since now I have two girls and I'm sure for Sparkles' 5th birthday I'm gonna have to do something big again!  I will definitely post pics from the party and of my homemade cake later this week, but for now I will leave you with some of my favorite birthday quotes from Princess Sparkles...

"We can have a celebration but I'm not going to be 4."
Aren't you supposed to wait until you're at least 30 before you decide you don't want to get older?

"Where's the pizza, cake and presents?  It's not my birthday."
On her real birthday 2 days before the party

"This rocket is so much fun!  Literally."
When playing with one of her favorite birthday gifts, a stomp rocket

"Today I'm a princess.  A real princess."
Before getting into her castle bouncer

Absolutely love the dress! The color and style are simple enough to really make a versatile piece. It's adorable. I also am craving those shoes - how adorable! They pair up perfectly with the dress. Love the outfit and can't wait to see what you come up with for the rest of the challenge! :)

OMGosh. I don't know which is more adorable, your olive dress and orange booties or Sparkles' little comments. LOL. I love having kids! My kids are 10, 6 and 4 (my only girl is the 4 year old) and they crack me up all the time. Great blog! I am uber stoked about Megan and Keely's challenge. It's a good one and you totally rocked it!

Hacha boobala, those boots really
pop! Maybe Sparkles doesn't want
to admit to 4 until she has more
celebrations. Meanwhile Pigtails
is thinking about her turn...Kudos
to you for still thinking about
big celebrations to come:)

I am loving the quotes. Kids are hilarious. My son constantly asks to confirm his friends and himself are still 4 and even then they turn 5 they will still be kids. He is already concerned with becoming an adult and the responsibilities that come with it.
I am loving these combos. The top one with white jacket and red Lita like booties looks amazing.
The 2nd one is also nice and cozy.

I really love the olive dress. I feel like so much can be done with it. It really seems to transcend the seasons, too, which is always nice. P.S. Those booties are totally to.die.for. LOVE.

She sounds so cute and clever! I have to ask about the GoJane boots...how do you like the texture, do they run true to size, and how comfortable are they? I have 2 pairs of Litas, and was excited to see their version for much less!
