Florals, Argyle and Something Personal

"Daddy has so hot laps!"
Pigtails protested when Camouflage offered to brush her teeth.
She always has a unique way of expressing herself.
Whether it's what she says or what she wears
(Pigtails loves pairing polka dots with polka dots or hearts with stripes).
She definitely has confidence and never ceases to entertain me.

WHITE T-SHIRT - Target
ARGYLE CARDI - Old Navy
NECKLACE - H&M
BLACK SPIKEY FLATS - Target

Here are a couple outfits from the week.  The black maxi and brown poncho were both on clearance.  The camouflage flats I fell in love with from Target.  I also decided to pair some floral jeans with an argyle cardi, which I'm linking up with "Inspiration Monday."  I had been searching for a pair of spikey black flats and was thrilled when I saw them at... Target.  They're edgy and comfy too!

Pigtails and Bucket check out their new personalized water bottles!

I wanted to give a special thanks to Sarah and Personal Creations for kindly sending my little ones personalized gifts.  There were so many cool things to choose from - personalized backpacks, pillowcases and even nap mats (check 'em out HERE)!  In the end I picked these fabulous water bottles because not only are they cute, they're functional.  They're also big, they don't leak (a serious pet peeve of mine!) and each kid knows which one is theirs!

It's so fun to see how excited my kids get when they get something with their name on it.  Suddenly the item becomes personal and they feel special.  It's kind of like an outfit.  Whether you're pairing florals and argyle or polka dots with polka dots, it's how each person puts it together that makes it unique!

Thakoon for Target, Jeffrey Campbell and a Recycler

Bucket continues to get into everything.
Recently he discovered the recycle.
Despite attempts to block it with chairs,
He moves them or moves around them.
I guess it beats the trash.

BELT - Forever 21
BOOTIES - Jeffrey Campbell

ANIMAL PRINT BURGUNDY JEANS - Romeo and Juliet Couture
T-SHIRT, GRAY CARDIGAN - Target
NECKLACE - Hand-me-down
PINK FLATFORMS - H&M

Here are two outfits from the past week.  The first is a dress I found at GW.  I was so excited to find a Thakoon for Target piece, and although it's actually a size too big, I was able to belt it.  The second outfit is one I'm linking up to "Inspiration Monday" from Two Birds.  The burgundy jeans I got at Loehmanns.  I also found those pink flatforms on clearance at H&M for $5!  The necklace I got during a swap from my friend, Fancy.

Bucket gets into Camo's recyle!!!

Bucket wears a lot of hand-me-downs, just like his mommy.  I gotta say, I love dressing both of us in second hand stuff.  Not only is it less expensive but it's also a great way to recycle!!!'

Green Skinny Jeans, Union Jack Tee and a Birthday Party

"I'm not inviting nobody to my birthday!"
Pigtails shouted as she stormed out of the room.
My girls like to reference their birthday parties when they get upset.
I wasn't too worried since it'll be a whole year before she has another birthday.
And honestly, I wouldn't be all that bummed if she didn't have a party.
Of course, 5 minutes later everyone was invited again.

Here are two outfits from the past week.  I love wearing combat boots and a skirt (especially nude boots!).  The shirt I got at a swap I hosted with some friends.  The second outfit I'm linking up to "Inspiration Monday" from Two Birds.  I was attempting to incorporate more color into my wardrobe in anticipation of spring.

Pigtails and her Care Bear cake at her birthday party.

It's always a fashion challenge this time of year.  It's not quite spring but not really winter.  I'm getting excited about pulling out my spring clothes though.  I haven't seen them since fall.  It'll be like a whole new wardrobe.  Happy Birthday to me!

Floral Dr. Martens, Chambray and a Mustache

"I was cute as a baby but I'm cuter now,"
Princess Sparkles informed me.
I asked her if she thinks Bucket will get cuter with age too.
"No, I don't think so."
I laughed and asked her why.
"Because he'll have a mustache.  I can tell."

FLORAL PRINT BOOTS - Dr. Martens

DENIM SHIRT - For Joseph (thrifted)

Here are a couple outfits from the past week.  I had been coveting an Alternative Apparel maxi then saw this Target one on clearance for $8 so I snatched it up (also got one in gray!).  The floral docs I got for $30 at Nordstrom (after price matching from Urban Outfitters and using gift card money).  The chambray shirt I got at a local thrift store and the wedge sneakers are from Target (of course!).

Princess Sparkles preps the stage for Bucket's performance

The Little Man

I'm so excited about my new Dr. Martens.  Back in high school they only had black or oxblood ones (I had the former).  But now they have all sorts of colors and patterns, like my floral ones.  Dr. Martens have definitely gotten cuter with age!

Mustard Leather Jacket, Neon Tassel Loafers and Panty Wear

"Look, Mommy, panty wear!"
Pigtails exclaimed.
She's potty training and very proud of her new "training panties."
What I didn't realize is she also calls "pull-ups" panty wear.
And when she gets distracted she doesn't like to stop and pee.
Unfortunately, this happened on Camo and my bed last night.  Sigh.

Here are two outfits from the week.  I didn't realize I wore two very similar color combinations, but I guess I was feeling the purple-ish with the yellow-ish.  The first outfit is what I wore to church on Sunday and what I'm linking up with "Inspiration Monday" from Two Birds.  The second is just something I wore during the week.  The loafers I recently found on clearance at Target for $12.  I love the tassels and neon on them (and they're so comfy!).

Pigtails poses with the "panada" she chose for her upcoming birthday.

Pigtails at her first swim lesson, which she loved!

Obviously I shop at Target.  A lot.  I can't help but browse those clearance racks everytime I go in there for, say, milk.  And why I am shopping for milk at Target?  So I can check out those clearance racks, of course!!!  They're just so darn fabulous.  So fabulous that I'd even forgo peeing just to have more shopping time!!!

Burgundy Leather Skirt and a Linguist

"I know lots of languages,"
Princess Sparkles informed me.
She's attends Japanese immersion school, so I figured she was talking about that.
"Like tiger.  Roar!  I also speak penguin, hummingbird, dog and baby too!"
I asked her if she knew what the animals/baby were saying.
"I can speak it but I don't understand.
I know what I'm saying but I don't know what they're saying."

I'd been searching for a leather skirt when I came across this burgundy one at Foreign Xchange for 50% off the sale price!  It was $17!  I wore it first to church with a William Rast for Target jacket, then decided to change it up later in the day for a night out with friends.  Because we were going to be outside, I put on my F21 moto jacket I got for $8 (also 50% off sale price) and knee high socks.  The third outfit I'm linking up to Two Bird's "Inspiration Monday."  These are actually my workout clothes, but I dressed them up with boots and a jacket.

Princess Sparkles talks to her pet fly (eww!) in her "bug home."

I'm amazed how real faux leather looks and feels nowadays.  I'm also amazed I found such a cute skirt for such a good deal!  It's always a thrill when you find something on sale of the sale price.  Now that's what I call speaking my language!

Burgundy Cowboy Boots, An Anorak and Valentine's Day Pretzel Wreaths

"Can I keep these to remember you by?"
Pigtails asked my mom, Fair Isle, holding up a bag of M&Ms.
We were getting ready to leave grandma's, where the treats flow in abundance.
Because at home I try to limit sugary snacks... To bribing.
Otherwise how else would I get them to clean up toys or get in the car?

Polka Dot French Manicure Nails for Valentine's Day

Here are two outfits I wore today.  The first one I wore to church.  The dress was from a swap and thanks to "Inspiration Monday" from Two Birds, I paired it with an anorak and motorcycle boots.  The second outfit I wore to a 6-year old birthday party at Scooter's Jungle.

Decorating Valentine's Day pretzel wreaths
with cookies, candy and white chocolate.

Our finished Valentine's Day pretzel wreaths.  Yum!

I'm still madly obsessed with nail art.  I change it up every few days.  It's a fun way to accessorize without spending much money.  To me it's the perfect treat!
