In Loving Memory of our TV

"Mommy, you're not proud of us anymore,"
Princess Sparkles told me after I scolded her and Pigtails.
I reassured them I was still proud of them but I wasn't happy with what they did.
Lately they've been extra naughty (maybe it's the heat!).
Pigtails recently took a plastic golf club to the TV.
Unfortunately the TV did not make it.

STRIPED HI-LO SKIRT - Target, $6
LAVENDER TANK - Bebe
VEST, WEDGES - Old Navy, $6, $14
NECKLACE - c/o GS Lillian
PHOTOBOMBER - Pigtails, the "TV golfer"
Monday's Inspiration - Kristin Cavallari

Here is my version of "Inspiration Monday" from Two Birds.  I decided to go opposite of Kristin Cavallari and wear a striped mullet skirt and a purple tank.  I paired it with two Old Navy clearance purchases, the vest which was $6 and the wedges which were $14.

The Victim

The Culprit

Despite this skirt being neutral colored I still find it difficult to figure out what to wear it with besides white and cream but I was glad for the lavender inspiration.  And now that I don't have a TV for a while, I guess I'll have more time to experiment in my closet!

Oh, dear, did Pigtails try to hide the evidence? My grandson cut the hair on the wig my mannekin wears...and it took me a couple of weeks to figure that one out.

I love how you did a switcheroo on the inspiration look- great shoes and lilac is such a pretty colour on you. Eeeek poor Mr. TV, on the plus side you now get to go tv shopping!

Oops! Sorry to hear that the TV didn't make it through. Who could have guessed a plastic golf club could do that damage. Despite that, really adore the outfit you put together. It's a great way to mix up the original outfit. You could do no wrong with that skirt!

I love your inspiration, I was considering a pair of lavender jeans recently but then thought maybe i was getting too carried away with it all, (although I would love to find a pair of jungle floral jeans before the summer is over). Can't believe your tv bit the dust! How will they learn Spanish now? Hope all is well Claire!

I love that you inverted the inspiration Claire! Love this striped high low skirt! Sorry about your TV. Kids are little barometers sometimes. When the weather gets tough, they get tougher!

Oh how clever! You've done a great, unique interpretation! poor TV, naughty children! Sorry I am late to the IM party, I was out last night!

Maybe Pigtails needs golf lessons ... looks like she has a pretty good swing! I do think it's the weather ... when I was teaching, I remember that the kids would get crazy whenever it rained. So I bet sunshine has the same effect. :)
It's fun that you reversed the look and added a vest, too. :)

o man on the TV. You look great.

i doubt they'll do that again. do you? claire, you look better than kristin. you have more style. yes, i said it, and i meant it. kristin was my least favorite character on the hills, besides spencer. anyway, let's talk about your shoes, your skirt, that you can wear with any solid color, and your necklace. :)

That is a crazy amount of damage from a plastic golf club, right there. She has some power behind her swing, apparently!

(Um, also, LOVE the skirt!)

Awww, I'm glad nothing bad happened when the TV lost its life...

I like how you did the inverse of Cavallari's look.

Oh no! So sorry about television. Anyone else remember the good old days when you could fix you tv by hitting it? Or fix the video games by blowing in them? Aaah those were the good ole days. ;)

My son has been so bad lately, too! Saturday we had three time outs!! We have a strict rule...no golf clubs or baseball bats in the house...for this very reason, lol!

cute little vest! I have some pieces that are difficult to match. Have you tried mixing it with another black and white pattern?!

Lilac the light and fun sister of purple. I love it on you and maybe you should try blue or green with the skirt next.
