Color Blocking, Menswear Vest and 1970's Vintage Enamel Jewelry

GREEN/BLUE DRESS - Thakoon for Target
BLACK MENSWEAR VEST - CAbi
BLACK BELT - New York and Company
BLACK STRAPPY WEDGES - Colin Stuart
GREEN BELT (worn as necklace) - Vintage (my mom's)
BLUE ENAMEL CLIP EARRINGS - Vintage (my mom's)
YELLOW CUFF - Made by Mom

***PRINCESS SPARKLES - wearing a drawing of her face around her neck

Today Princess Sparkles rode around on her tricycle picking blackberries and eating them one at a time.  She had to ride around the corner to the other side of the house to pick the berry then ride all the way back around to wash and eat it.  It seemed a little inefficient and time consuming to do it one at a time, but my mom, Fair Isle, said she thought it was good for Princess Sparkles to appreciate each of the blackberries.

The "Fruit Week" inspiration for Friday from Megan Mae Daily and Casual Chic Kiki is kiwi, so I decided to wear a little green.  This is one of the 10 dresses (yes, I'm exaggerating...a little) I got from Target when the designer dresses went on clearance for $10.  I almost returned it because I was feeling guilty for buying so many, but then it was so comfy and different than all the others!

It was quite the challenge changing up the dress though.  So I decided to play with the color blocking by adding black accessories.  Fair Isle also had some fabulous enamel jewelry from the 1970's.  The earrings and the necklace (really a belt) are vintage pieces she owned way back when.  And the yellow cuff is something my mom made.

Anyway, I think it is important to appreciate things.  I'm sure the blackberries tasted extra special to Princess Sparkles after triking all the way around the house to get just one.  I sort of feel the same way about my designer Target dresses.  I had to wait to get them on sale, but finding them for $10 (and being able to get 5 for the price of 1) really made them extra special!

Ha, I want to see her wearing the picture of her face! Kids, gotta love 'em. Currently mine are yelling in each other's faces 10" away from each other through rolled up pieces of paper.

Anyway! I love this dress, oh-so-much. All of the designer dresses were way too short for me - I am jealous you scored so many for so cheap!

I, too, am jealous of your amazing haul! And I'm loving the color blocking on the dress. The shades are also oh-so-perfect.

Love the dress! I tried on the same one at Target but I didn't think I could pull it off - it looks amazing on you.

I love how you color block Claire, hehe, and how cute is your girlie always popping into outfit photos like that. :)

That yellow cuff is love, and it goes so well with your vintage earrings!

Hope you are having a good weekend, love.

Great color block. My oma had grape that grew in her yard but we would never eat them but the neighborer loved them. She would eat them unwashed.

Love the bright yellow bangle accent. I wish I could have snapped up a few of the clearanced collection dresses at Target, but my store was totally picked over! Nice steal!

That is a fabulous color! And styling with black was such a great choice- the combo is super chic and really summery. And I love the little accent with the yellow bracelet! x

I have this dress, too, although I got it when it was on clearance for $20, instead of $10, so I'm a little jealous of your superior sales rack skills :)

I haven't been able to wear it, though, because I think it might be a touch too short for work, and it hasn't come up in my weekend rotation yet. I really love how you styled it, though!

I still can't believe you found that dress (and the others!) for $10--that is awesome. And I just love everything about this--the dress looks great with black, plus the pops of bright jewelry (which I also love!!!).

You always have the best usage of color in your outfits. I wish I could color-block as well as you.
I also wish I could pull off wearing a vest as well as you. I don't think I am a vest person, though, and that makes me sad because there are some gorgeous ones out there.

It's worth buying 10 dresses when they are only $10. You always make Target clothes look so good. The color block dress is so chic!

I never found any of the Target designer line dresses on sale. I would have definitely bought 5 or more. Very cute dress and I love the 70's jewelry.

Please can I have a close-up of the cool yellow cuff?!
