Monochromatic Brown and Family Rituals

BROWN MATERNITY DRESS - Motherhood Maternity
SNAKESKIN ENVELOPE CLUTCH - Downtown LA Fashion District
FEATHER HEADBAND - Downtown LA Fashion District
STRIPED KNEE HIGH SOCKS - Target
LEOPARD RING - Forever 21
RED NECKLACE - Thrifted

"Buckle!  Buckle!"  That's what Pigtails screams everytime I put her into her carseat.  Lately, she has this ritual where she has to enter in the same door as Princess Sparkles, climb into the car herself, then buckle her own seat belt.  If this doesn't happen she screams and arches her back, making it nearly impossible for me to get her in, then she's upset for the duration of our drive.

I wore this monochromatic look to church a few weeks ago.  For a little color I added a red feather headband, the accessory I'm obsessed with after buying one in every color from the Fashion District in Downtown LA (also where I got the snakeskin envelope clutch for $10!) and a statement necklace thrifted by my mom, Fair Isle.

Pigtails swings at Fair Isle's house

I'm so happy it's Friday.  I get to go down to Fair Isle's house, which usually means a little thrifting, a bit of resting and a lot of eating.  It's our nice little end of the week ritual (unlike the one where I have to force Pigtails into the car seat.  Sigh).

OMG my two younger ones have this same issue! How strange! And my daughter is at the independent stage wherein she has to buckle herself and it takes FOREVER and makes being in a hurry so much drama! But, hey, we take the good with the bad, right? They are adorable at any rate.

This dress looks great on you!

That pretty much sounds like every car trip we make. Kids are awesome sometimes, huh? (And that's where a sarcasm font would have come in handy ;))

Anyway, I love that purse...I can't believe you picked it up for $10. Amazing!

Love your new clutch. Poor Pigtails
must be so frustrated trying to be a big girl. Hopefully, she'll master buckling very soon.

I'm sure you already know this, but Pigtails and Princess Sparkles are just too cute for words. I can't help but smile when I see them sneaking into your outfit photos. And those little girls have one stylish mommy. Really love the simple dress paired with the statement accessories. And those boots are too amazing!

kids are so fickle sometimes, lol! my son is weird about his toothbrush and toothpaste. HE has to get the brush and HE has to put the toothpaste on or else he throws this screaming tantrum. geez.

i was obsessed with those feather hair pieces, too! wanted one badly, but never did get one :(
love the high boots under the long dress!

Pigtails is SO cute, and sounds very independent. Not a bad thing, just a frustrating one for mom sometimes;-) Ajuma has started wanting to buckle the top buckle on her car seat on occasion--I'll look forward to it becoming more intense! LOL
You look fab in this monochromatic look. The feather hair accessory is perfect. I bought an Albertus Swanepoel hat with a feather in it--my only feather accessory so far. I think I need a hair one now:-)
