Camel Jolt Cape and the Perfect Red Lipstick

CAMEL CAPE - Jolt (via Nordstrom)
SKINNY MATERNITY JEANS - Serafontaine (hand-me-down)
METALLIC FLATS - Audrey Brooke (thrifted)
LEOPARD RING - Forever 21
EARRINGS - Jewelry party

REVLON Super Lustrous Lipstick in "Fire & Ice"
COVERGIRL Lip Perfection Lipliner in "Passion"
Today I asked Princess Sparkles if she'd rather be a princess or a superhero.  She paused and really had to think about that one.  I mean, she loves a crown but she also loves a cape.  I did inform her that a princess often wears a cape too and a superhero can wear a crown.  She then let me know that she would rather be a princess but she'd like to be both.

I have been obsessed with getting a cape myself and when I saw this Jolt one in camel for 50% off online at Nordstrom, I knew I had to have it.  I immediately drove over to the store to try it on to see which size I needed (I got XS/S).  I was sold when a shopper near me turned, nodded and said, "Are you pregnant?  Because your belly looks so cute in that cape."  Luckily, I am pregnant.  I went to purchase it but when the saleslady told me it wasn't on sale, I rushed home to order it online.  Good thing I did because the next day it was no longer 50% off!

I used a rubberband to hold
my slipper so I could shop!
I paired my cape with these inherited maternity skinnies and metallic flats I thrifted when my slipper broke during breakfast.  I made Camouflage drive me across the street to a local thrift store (any excuse to shop).  Now I can link to "Thursdays are for Thrifters" from Spunky Chateau!  I'll also be linking up to Silverstyle's "Trending Through the Decades: Capes," Pleated Poppy's "What I Wore Wednesday," and "Real Momma, Real Style."

Anyway, I'm so excited I was able to purchase this cape on sale (I'm also glad it didn't make my shoulders look like a linebacker).  The thing about capes is they are super versatile.  Not only are they great for pregnant ladies, but for princesses and superheroes alike!

Those shoes are such an awesome on-the-spot find...it's not often I've been able to go into a store (thrift or not) with something specific in mind and come out with something fabulous :)

Heheh. It was a good thing you are pregnant. I don't care if someone's about to pop, unless they bring up being pregnant first, I pretend they are not. I've heard too many horror stories about people making assumptions and then eating their feet. :)

But that cape does fit your cute little belly perfectly! And I think those shoes were meant to be.

Rock it Mama!! This is such a great look. It could work anytime, but would be a great run around Saturday look. I can no longer pull off a bold lip!! I have tried and I look like I am trying to hard. A nude lip is my calling card.

I have been DYING for a cape this season! I haven't found one to fit my budget yet though. :-( This looks amazing on you. My daughter is the same way. She has two older brothers, so every once in a while, she will trade in her princess heels for a cape and Nerf gun. Kids are so funny!

That's a great lip color on you!

you look so stunning in this cape, great buy- thank God you were fast as lightning, you need super hero speed to grab good deals like this. Looks great with the shoes too, looks like I got to break my shoes more often. So I can have the excuse to keep going to the thrift store.

gorgeous cape!! i can't believe people still ask "are you preggers?"!!! obviously they haven't asked the wrong person yet, lol! i've always wanted a cape, but could never wear it here :(

and so crazy about your target order!!! i'd be pissed, too...that kind of happened with an asos order...took forver, then when i inquired, they refunded me and cancelled the order! when i went back online to try and re-order the stuff, it was gone!! then...a month later my package showed up!! score, lol! anyways, i guess after taking so long with the missoni stuff, you kinda lose the excitement and are actually ok without it. you got to spend the money on this gorgeous cape instead!!
