Baby Predictions from the Donut Shop Lady

LEOPARD PRINT TOP - Old Navy
WHITE MATERNITY JEANS - James Jeans
BLACK MARY JANE HEELS - Dr. Scholls
FEATHER TRIM WOOL CLOCHE - Forever 21 (exact)
LIGHT BLUE PYRAMID BRACELET - T&J Designs via Monday Mingle Giveaway (exact)

A while ago I went to a donut shop with Camouflage and the girls.  The woman behind the counter looked at me and asked, "How many months?"  I embellished slightly and rounded up a month.  She examined me, "boy or girl?"  I didn't know yet but asked her what she thought (I'm half Chinese and Chinese people always seem to know these things).  She looked at me then touched my belly.  "Probably a girl.  Because you're wide in the back area."  She extended her arms out.  Then to slightly make it not as insulting she said, "but maybe it's the dress."

Here's the dress I was wearing to the Donut Shop:
TRIBAL PRINT DRESS - Heavenly Treasures

I recently joined the "Fashion Challenge" hosted by Megan Mae Daily and Casual Chic Kiki.  I always love their challenges, and today was snake or leopard.  I decided to wear the new top I got at Old Navy for $9.  I had seen my blog friends at [oomph.] and Find Your Fashion Steal My Style wearing this top and knew I had to have it.  I desperately tried NOT to copy their versions so I went with these white maternity jeans and my Forever 21 cloche.  I'm in love with the feathers!  To round it out I wore this T+J Designs bracelet I won from Monday Mingle!  Isn't it lovely?!!!

Anyway, besides being $9, the thing that sold me on this leopard top was it was NOT maternity and it fit well (meaning, I could button it).  I love the way it loosely hangs over the jeans and the print helps camouflage my belly.  In fact, I'm hoping that it I actually makes me look like I'm having a boy when I wear this top!

So you don't know yet if it's a boy or a girl? That dress suits you perfectly and in my opinion you didn't gain any extra pounds beside the baby weight!!!

Claire, I love that first photo! Too cute. Both pregnancies I had people coming up and declaring I was having a boy because you couldn't tell I was pregnant from behind - and I had two girls. :) It's fun to have people excited about the baby too - even if it's perfect strangers.

Well I think you look fantastic in this dress, I can't see your back being wide at all!!

And I love that bracelet you wore with your leopard print blouse, it's so eye-catching. :)

the lady is funny;-) Great outfits, you look like the "pretty lady walking down the street" in Pretty Woman movie. So chic, all pregant mothers should ditch their wide maternity dress and start dressing up like this. Love the hat. And the second tribal dress is lovely too, can't believe you can still wear a belt, never thought of wearing a bely when I was pregnant. haha..

I used to hate when people used to talk to me when I was pregnant like this! Maybe I was just extra hormonal, but every time someone would try to tell me that my legs were swollen or that I was "extra big" for how far along I was or even try to touch my belly, the devil woman in me came out and said BACK OFF!!!!!!!!!! :-/

Anywho, I love your leopard honey and your hat is uber cute. I am doing the challenge too but couldn't post yet because I was sick as a dog yesterday.

Pshh, what does she know?!?! I can't imagine that you have ever in your life looked "wide in the back!" You are adorable!! And I love that blousy leopard top!

You are the most stylish pregnant lady I know! Looking fab!!! Does it disconcert you the way total strangers seem to 'know' because you're pregnant or is it a joyful perk!? Having a little giveaway Claire if you are around and interested!!

Thanks for sharing the prediction dress. What a laugh. If she's wrong, tell her she owes you a dozen doughnuts. Pigtails looks so cute and ladylike in photo. That brown hat looks really good on you. Love the feathers.

I'm pretty sure I've never seen you look wide...ever...anywhere:-)) I can't wait to see if the lady was right though!
Your daughter is SO adorable posing like that!
Last, but not least, you look absolutely fabulous in that leopard print shirt! So glad you went and found it and at such a great price. I love it with the white pants and that hat better than my own look.
Thanks for the shout-out:-)

haha... there's no way you look big because it took me forever to even realize you're big.... and babydoll dresses hide everyone's bums large and small

When pregnant with the boys, I decided people really need to keep comments like that to themselves, even if they did not mean it in an insulting way!! I think that dress looks great on you. Love how you are styling that leopard top!

You do NOT look wide in any area, in my opinion! I can't even really pull of non-maternity white jeans, and you look stunning in this outfit. I love the leopard print top :)
