Wearing Stripes With Stripes - 2 Way Tuesday

STRIPED BLAZER - Loft
STRIPED SHIRT - Forever 21
DENIM CUT-OFFS - Paige Premiun Denim
WEDGE BOOTS - Jeffrey Campbell
EARRINGS - from a street vendor
WRAP BRACELET - Cara
RED BELT - Thrifted

STRIPED JACKET - Loft
FLORAL DRESS - Old Navy
NECKLACE - Gifted
PINK SHOES - Seychelles
I love watching my girls dress themselves (or in Pigtails' case, attempt to dress herself).  They come up with the best outfits.  Princess Sparkles loves anything girly, especially a tutu and will often layer it with a Hawaiian dress then add a flower headband.  Sometimes she'll even throw on a bathing suit for extra pizzazz.  Pigtails gravitates more toward a casual comfy style and often likes to wear a pajama onesie over whatever else she's been forced to wear.

Isn't it amazing how versatile a striped blazer can be?  I love that mixing and matching prints is "in."  Makes putting together clothes so much more interesting.  I wasn't sure about the stripes on stripes but once I put it together I actually really liked it!  I've seen other bloggers doing it and thought it looked fun.

Anyway, I think one thing I can learn from my girls is there really is no such thing as style rules.  If you like it and feel good in it, then it doesn't matter what anyone else thinks (unless you like to be naked, like Pigtails, then maybe you should try and find something else to wear).  And really, confidence is the best accessory!

Absolutely! Confidence is the best accessory :)

I love both outfits, but really like the stripe on stripe outfit! Plus, you have your "roller skate" shoes on which I love too!

I love both of these looks - you look fabulous. And I love your striped blazer. I just finally found one that I liked and that fit at Nordstrom during the Anniversary Sale - I'm excited to copy one or both of your looks. ;-)

I just love love love that blazer!! It's going to be perfect when the weather starts cooling off and you can wear it more often!

Ha, kids crack me up! My Little Guy doesn't show much of an interest in his own clothes yet, but he's always giving me his opinion on my own. lol

Love the double stripe combo- especially with a red belt! You always look great!
I regret the fact that I had a great blue and white striped blazer- it was a size 16 which is 4 sizes too big for me but it looked like a boyfriend fit, rather like an Eton school blazer and I stupidly got rid of it in a clothing cull. Miss it!

I love the stripe on stripe too! That's my next daring move - pattern on pattern. I grew up when there were so many fashion "rules" - no white after Labor Day, don't mix gold & silver or black & brown, etc... Rules are meant to be broken! The pattern on pattern has to be done just right though and you have it down perfectly! Although I do remember living in my bathing suit during the summers as a kid... So carefree!

I think these kids are smarter than I give them credit for...sometimes it just might make sense to follow their lead. Except when they try to wear sunglasses to bed or something, that is :)

I love the stripes on stripes. That might actually be a pattern mix that even I can pull off!

Yea, stripes! I have an abundance of them in my wardrobe but I haven't tried wearing them over each other. Wouldn't it be fun to have the girls choose your outfit every now and then!? And you could be the inspiration for the day for us.
