"Mommy, you're wearing skates!"  That's what Princess Sparkles said to me when she saw me wearing my new pair of Jeffrey Campbell wedge booties (thanks to my sister, Polka Dots, for the belated birthday gift!).  I had to laugh because it actually didn't occur to me that they looked like skates but once she said it I realized she was right.

My "Skates" - Jeffrey Campbell

Today's theme is "arm party," thanks to Pretty Shiny Sparkly's "Bloggers Do It Better" challenge.  I'm really excited to be trying my hand at bangles galore (speaking of Bangles, in elementary school I did a dance to "Walk Like an Egyptian" for a talent show...but anyway).  I've always wished I was a better accessorizer, but find myself usually keeping it simple.  So this was a lot of fun for me to try!

Because I was heavily accessorized, I decided to keep the outfit simple with neutral colors.  I was thrilled to wear my lace jacket again and finally got to wear a french dress (literally from France) my good friend, Fedora, gave me in a pile of hand-me-downs.  The purse was thrifted by my mom, Fair Isle, and the belt was only $.50 at a local store!!!

Thrifted Crossbody Bag
Anyway, this summer has been a whirlwind.  Can't believe it's already August!  We've definitely been keeping busy with lots of activities.  Too bad my Jeffrey Campbell's don't have wheels on them, it'd make keeping up with my girls a heck of a lot easier!

To answer your question you left on my blog about how I've met readers: most of the people I meet that have read my blog go to my school. Otherwise, it's been at blogger meet-ups, and other events in Austin with a high-volume of bloggers. It's weird that someone recognizes me from a photo I posted (I don't do a lot of outfit posts because I am too self-conscious).

Anywho.
Your lace jacket is very pretty. And all the accessories--fun stuff!
Take care.

Those "skates" are fierrrrrce, girl!! I love how you rock these. I also have to compliment you on your crazzzzyy nail polish. I'm so glad that I am not the only one who can't stick with just one color on all 10 nails!

Oh, I love this tough look on you. And I even like the skates. Which reminds me, I swear that I saw actual skate shoes in one of the magazines for fall - I want to say it was D Squared's line. Have you seen them? Crazy.

I am sooo in love with this lace jacket! I remember you wore it on lace day for EBEW if I remember correctly. The boots are super cool!

If Princess Sparkles thinks they look like skates, that's a compliment because roller skating is the most fun thing ever!

I like the lace jacket, but your grey dress is the rock star of this outfit- I love it! It's a really pretty shade of grey and I also just like the style of it. I have this old American Apparel dress from about 4 years ago that has a similar style that I wear all of the time, to the point that it got embarrassing because its in so many pictures haha.

Man, that's a whole lot of arm party. Reminds me of those martial arts movies where the arm bracelets are used for self defense. One place not to wear them--live theater. You can't imagine how much noise they can make with the slightest motion!

I love the idea of an arm party...I need to start getting in on these fun link-ups, I think!

What I feel is that Jeffrey Campbell boots are still going to be in style since they are still very popular and not very women are complaining about his designs. Although they are not as classy as the top end brands, they do go well with a number of outfits. There are many styles you can choose from and each design has a different story. They may not be the best of the lot, but are certainly tough and bold, which is a good thing for any woman who wants to make a statement with her outfit.
