Stripes, Neon and Getting Rich

"Mommy, I want you to be one of those store ladies.
The ones who scan things,"
Princess Sparkles said.
I asked her why and she replied,
"Because then you get rich and I want you to get rich."
Yeah, me too...

NEON STRIPED SHIRT - Old Navy
WHITE JEANS - Flying Monkey (thrifted)
BROWN/GOLD BELT - Michael Kors (thrifted)
STATEMENT NECKLACE - GS Lillian
GOLD BRACELET - iSanctuary
PURSE - Cynthia Rowley
SHOES - Forever 21

NAVY STRIPED SHIRT - French Connection (thrifted)
GREEN JEANS - Target
BRACELET - Shop With A Mission
NECKLACE - iSanctuary
WEDGES - Payless

Here are a few outfits from the week.  I decided to do a "white outfit" thanks to "Inspiration Monday" from Two Birds.  But rather than the dress they chose I decided to wear white jeans and pair them with a neon yellow chevron top and my GS Lillian statement necklace.  I also wore my green Target jeans, which I rolled, and added some thrifted navy stripes.

I think I said I was going to wear fun summer dresses for the week.  Well, I didn't do that but I did wear lots of stripes and jeans!  I love my thrifted finds and my Target clothes.  I think even if I was a rich store lady I would still go thrifting and buy stuff on clearance!!!

Tanned, Mobile and An eShakti Giveaway

"Baby, you did it!"
Princess Sparkles enthused as Bucket army crawled.
Camouflage loves to put the TV remote in front of Bucket
(and like most men, he loves to reach for said remote).
However, I have reservations.  He's only 5 months.
And I like the fact that 1 of my 3 kids can't go anywhere.

IKAT TOP - Old Navy, $6
ORANGE CUT-OFFS - Forever 21, $12.50
BRACELET - T & J Designs
LEOPARD RING - Forever 21
FRINGE NECKLACE - Made by my mom
FRINGE STILETTOS - Qupid

The Payless wedges I ended up changing in to :)

Yesterday I got a spray tan from my good friend, Bronzer.  I only had one done before my wedding, so it was fun to try it again.  I was originally wearing gray and white, and realized, it did nothing for my newly tanned self.  So I decided to go with some bright F21 cut-offs and a brown ikat top that sorta matched my new skin tone.  I started out wearing these awesome fringe stilettos, but in the end realized that I would probably not be able to wear these out all day.

The GIVEAWAY!!!

Remember this dress? Well, eShakti inadvertently sent me a second one. So they said I could give it away! It's a great one shoulder maxi, size Medium (or an 8). It was a tad looser than the measurements said but I was able to belt it. It's pretty long, I'm 5'2 but wearing 5 inch heels!!!

Here's what you have to do to enter:

- FOLLOW Spinning Threads via GFC
- Leave me a comment telling me where you'd wear this dress :)

***for a BONUS ENTRY, "like" Spinning Threads on facebook
(if you already like Spinning Threads than you can have another entry as well)

This giveaway is open internationally.  Good luck and I'll announce the winner July 30th!  And if you're checking out eShakti and find something you like, use the code "SP25ZRE" to get an additional 10% off the already 40% off that's going on right now!!!  It's good until the end of the month.

I love to wear sky high heels, but I'll admit, while they look good on, they don't always feel good.  And while I'm all for suffering for fashion, I unfortunately have to be practical at times, especially now that I'll be chasing 3 mobile kiddos!

Lavender Flying Monkey Jeans, Fringe Necklace

"Baby I love you too much.  Baby you are so little.
Baby... I... Love... You.  Yeah"
Princess Sparkles loves to sing
especially to her little brother, Bucket.
She makes up songs and performs them.
Sometimes to the piano,
or an imaginary audience in our backyard.

NUDE TANK - Bebe
CARDIGAN - Loft
RED PURSE - B Makowsky
STRIPED WEDGES - Payless
NECKLACE - Made by my Mom

I really love my colorful skinny jeans, and after buying different brands I have to say my favorites are these Flying Monkey ones.  They have just the right amount of stretch and always seem to have gorgeous colors like these lavender ones (I also have mint green, turquoise and black ones!).  I decided to keep everything else in neutral tones and wear this fabulous statement necklace my mom, Fair Isle, made me for my birthday.

I'm so thrilled Fair Isle likes to make jewelry and even more thrilled that I get to be the receiver of this jewelry.  This is one of a kind with real leather fringe and lots of different beads.  It makes a simple outfit look really put together.  Thanks so much, mom!  "I... Love... You.  Yeah!"

Tribal Print Shorts, Isabella Fiore bag and a Comic

"Knock, knock."  Pigtails said.
"Who's there?"  I asked.
"Orange."
"Orange, who?"
Pigtails paused, smiled and said "mac n' cheese!"
Then she roared with laughter at her own joke.

GREEN  SHORTS - Mimi Chica (via Nordstrom Rack), $17
BLACK KNIT TOP - August Silk (Loehmanns)
STRIPED NUDE WEDGES - Payless, $20
BLACK PURSE - Isabella Fiore (thrifted), $3.50
PIGTAILS - Target hand-me-downs and Princess Sparkles' boots

My current obsession with tribal prints lead to the purchase of these fun shorts.  I really liked how they had an elastic waist and the little ruffle at the hem.  The black knit top is so comfy.  My sister, Polka Dots, accidentally left it in my bag when she flew back home to Hawaii.  And that magnificient purse was thrifted by my mom, Fair Isle, who got it at Salvation Army for $3.50!!!  I looked online and those designer bags go for $350-500!

The jokester dresses her brother in a floral headband.

I'm so in love with that purse.  The leather is buttery soft and the details are beautiful!  No joke about it, it's the best thrift find I've ever heard of!!!

Pattern Mixing - Stripes and Argyle

"Thank you, me!"
Princess Sparkles really appreciates herself.
Especially when she makes chocolate banana pudding.
At least she's polite.

STRIPED HIGH-LOW SKIRT - Target, $7.50
CREAM FLOWER SHIRT - CaBi
ARGYLE CARDIGAN - Old Navy, $15
WEDGES - Payless, $20

I have a new obsession... high-low skirts (I know, I have a lot of obsessions).  Not only are they comfortable, but work well with my nursing tanks and cardigans.  I bought this striped one on clearance from target.com for $7.50!  I thought I'd try "pattern mixing" so I wore it with the argyle cardigan.  The purse is my sister's LV knock off.  But Polka Dots wasn't using it so she lent it to me.

Princess Sparkles eats the dessert she made for everyone.
"Thank you, me!"

I recently ordered three high-low skirts from target.com, this striped one, an ikat one and a coral one.  I figured I'd just keep the one I liked best.  I ended up liking them all... a lot.  So I'm keeping them.  "Thank you, me!!!"

Tribal Print, Green Skinnies and Layering Pajamas

"This one!  This one!"
Pigtails always knows what she wants, especially when it comes to her attire.
Whether it's polka dots, her Care Bears t-shirt or swim shoes,
Pigtails has to have it her way.
Lately she likes to "layer" her clothes.
That way she can wear all her favorites at one time.

BROWN/CREAM TRIBAL TOP - Old Navy, $5
CREAM CARDIGAN - Old Navy
GREEN SKINNY JEANS - Target, $20
WEDGES - Payless, $20

This is the outfit I wore to church for Palm Sunday.  It's comprised of all my recent obsessions - bright skinnies, tribal prints and wedges.  The skinnies are from Target when they were on sale a few weeks back.  The tribal top, which is perfect for hiding my belly, was on the clearance rack at Old Navy.  The wedges I got last year at Payless.  I have to say I've been quite impressed with their shoes.

Pigtails makes Camo put a kimono set over her pajamas.

I always love wearing a sweater or vest over my tops.  Layers are the perfect way to wear multiple obsessions at one time and they always seem to make an outfit look more put together, even if it's just your pajamas!
