Vintage 70's Dress and a Hat Obsession

Bucket has a serious hat obsession.
Or maybe it's just wearing things on his head.
He loves his sisters' headbands, a tiara, or even his pajama pants.
He also wore my bra the other day.
But let's not talk about that...

70'S DRESS - Hand-me-down (made by my cousin)
KUKUI NUTS - borrowed from my mom
GOLD BRACELET - iSanctuary
BROWN HEELS - Forever 21

GRAY AND BLACK STRIPED SHIRT - Thakoon for Target
PINK SKINNY JEANS - Target
BRACELET - iSanctuary
BLACK SANDALS - Urban Outfitters

Here are some outfits from the week.  The dress is a hand-me-down from my great aunt.  Her daughter (my 2nd cousin) made it for her in the 1970's.  I was thrilled to receive a vintage piece like this and wore it to a family event.  They immediately recognized the dress and were excited to see it passed down.  The second outfit is a Target one.  The pink jeans and striped shirt both are from Target and the black shoes I got online from Urban Outfitters for $10!!!

Bucket wearing my hat.

Bucket wearing his sisters' headband.

Bucket modeling a princess tiara.

Bucket being creative with his pajama pants.

There's something special about wearing a real vintage piece, especially when it has family history behind it.  It's definitely a one of a kind.  Kinda like a little hat loving boy I know.

Stripes, Neon and Getting Rich

"Mommy, I want you to be one of those store ladies.
The ones who scan things,"
Princess Sparkles said.
I asked her why and she replied,
"Because then you get rich and I want you to get rich."
Yeah, me too...

NEON STRIPED SHIRT - Old Navy
WHITE JEANS - Flying Monkey (thrifted)
BROWN/GOLD BELT - Michael Kors (thrifted)
STATEMENT NECKLACE - GS Lillian
GOLD BRACELET - iSanctuary
PURSE - Cynthia Rowley
SHOES - Forever 21

NAVY STRIPED SHIRT - French Connection (thrifted)
GREEN JEANS - Target
BRACELET - Shop With A Mission
NECKLACE - iSanctuary
WEDGES - Payless

Here are a few outfits from the week.  I decided to do a "white outfit" thanks to "Inspiration Monday" from Two Birds.  But rather than the dress they chose I decided to wear white jeans and pair them with a neon yellow chevron top and my GS Lillian statement necklace.  I also wore my green Target jeans, which I rolled, and added some thrifted navy stripes.

I think I said I was going to wear fun summer dresses for the week.  Well, I didn't do that but I did wear lots of stripes and jeans!  I love my thrifted finds and my Target clothes.  I think even if I was a rich store lady I would still go thrifting and buy stuff on clearance!!!

Blue Stripes, Blue Tie Dye and A Break

"Give us back our mommy back!!!  Waaaahhh!!!"
Pigtails wailed at Camouflage while he got her ready for bed.
I had been busy two nights in a row and Pigtails wasn't happy about it.
But I sure was.  I needed that little break :)

STRIPED SHORTS - Lamb (thrifted)
BURNOUT TEE - Alternative Apparel (via Loehmanns)
OPEN TOE BOOTIES - Joe's Jeans (via Loehmanns)
FEDORA - Eugenia Kim for Target
NECKLACE - iSanctuary (via {Share})

TIE DYE LEGGINGS - Forever 21, $9.80
V-NECK T-SHIRT - Target
BURNOUT VEST - Alternative Apparel
HARROW BOOTIES - Rag and Bone
LEATHER/WOOD BANGLES - Raven & Lily (via {Share})
CHEVRON NECKLACE - iSanctuary (via {Share})

Here are a few outfits from the week.  I must've been feeling "blue" because I wore blue striped shorts and those blue tie dye leggings.  The shorts are Lamb and I thrifted them at Goodwill.  I'm pretty sure they were new.  The leggings I got at Forever 21.  They're just so fun and inexpensive.  In fact, I bought 3 pairs -- some celestial ones and floral ones too!

Happier times: Pigtails wears a "unicorn horn" at Seaside Lagoon.

I've been looking back on my last few outfits and feel like I've been awfully boring.  Not sure if it's the weather, the pictures (now that the kids are in them I have to pick the ones they look best in!), or if I'm just plain old boring.  Either way, I think I better change it up this week and start wearing more of my fun summer dresses!!!

Rag and Bone Harrow Boots and Privacy

"Don't look at my privacy,"
Pigtails said as I helped her change into her watermelon dress.
I averted my eyes as I put on her "panty wear."
I asked her if she wanted to wear her usual leggings.
"No, I want that gold skirt."
Pigtails definitely has her own special way of layering.
Like how she made me put her in two princess nightgowns at the same time.
Because... "Mommy, it's comfortable."

BLACK AND WHITE FLORAL TOP - Forever 21 (swapped)
GRAY CUT OFFS - Black Orchid
OFF WHITE CARDIGAN - Old Navy
BRACELET, NECKLACE - iSanctuary
BLACK BOOTIES (not pictured) - Hogan (thrifted)

GRAY AND YELLOW BUTTON UP TOP - CAbi (thrifted)
LIGHT WASH DENIM CUT OFFS - Express
HARROW BOOTIES - Rag and Bone

I got the floral top from a swap I did with girlfriends and the gray cut offs were on clearance at Loehmanns.  The black booties you can't see (thanks to Bucket) were thifted by my mom, Fair Isle.  They're Hogan and they're fabulous!  The light wash jeans have been a staple for me lately.  They match everything.  The top was thrifted from GW after Gingham spotted it on the rack.  The Harrow boots are the nicest thing I own.  My sis-in-law, Argyle, got them for me at American Rag.  I LOVE them!!!  Walked a couple miles in them and they didn't hurt at all!

Pigtails poses with Bucket in her watermelon dress (and my sunglasses!)

Yes, I'm still wearing cut offs.  A lot of them.  It's just hot and well, I like them.  But don't worry, you can't see my privacy and honestly, they're just so darn comfortable.
