Pigtails loves to be clean.  Despite her often messy appearance outside the bath (her hair falls in her face and she usually has food smeared all over), she loves to take a wipe or face towel and sweep it all over herself.  She also can spend hours in the bathtub pretending to "wash" herself.  She tries to squirt out some soap (luckily she can't really do it yet) and then she'll brush her hands all over her body as if she's bathing.  It's hilarious and very entertaining not only for herself but for her parents as well.

Today's "2 Way Tuesday" is a little bit of a cheat because I decided to rewear my high waist jeans.  I know, not super creative but I just felt like squeezing myself in these babies!  I was laughing that I wore the same belt, but oh well.  I bought this striped shirt at a boutique that was closing out (same as that purple top too) and I think it was under $5!  Anyway, I really like these short tops for wearing with high waist stuff, though if high waist goes out of style I won't be wearing these with low waist anything, thank you very much!

Anyway, I better run.  Princess Sparkles has her gymnastics class and I have to clean up the house before some friends come over afterwards.  I guess cleanliness (or at least the appearance of cleanliness) is not just important to Pigtails but for her mommy as well!

70's Inspired - High Waist Bell Bottom Jeans and a Purple Polyester Tie Top

HIGH WAIST BELL BOTTOM JEANS - iT Jeans
PURPLE POLYESTER TIE TOP - Hot and Delicious (hee hee)
RED SKINNY BELT - Thrifted (Thanks, Mom!)
RED/BLUE/PINK PLATFORM HEELS - Charlotte Russe
Pigtails is a voracious eater.  When she likes something she will shove the entire thing in her mouth so she can immediately ask for more via sign language (since she can't talk with her mouth that full).  She also likes to double fist.  One is never enough for her.  She needs to have one in each hand.  Pigtails also is a very messy eater.  Things tend to fall out of her mouth and into her hair, her lap, the floor, her face, my shirt.  I don't know how she does it but she can make a mess out of anything and everything.

"After this I'm gonna touch my
mommy and stain her clothes"
I decided to wear a 70's inspired, berry-colored outfit to church today in honor of "berry" day (which technically was yesterday) to culminate fruit week from the ladies at Meagan Mae Daily and Casual Chic Kiki.  These high-waist jeans are sort of awesome because they're basically Spanx in pant form.  The great thing about the top is that despite the belly having to spill out somewhere, the top bubbles just in the right place to obscure all of that.  It's perfect.  I can see why everyone looked so tall and thin in the 70's!!!

I will admit though, this outfit is not the most comfortable (surprised?  How we suffer for fashion...) and I had to come home and immediately change back into my pajamas.  And another thing I've found?  Polyester, despite looking cute and not wrinkling, has it's downfalls.  Not only does it not breathe (just don't sweat and you might be okay), but it stains really really easily.  So of course at snack time following church, I tried to push Pigtails and her foody hands away from me, but she still managed to get me good.  Sigh.  Guess that's motherhood.

Inspiration Monday - High Waist Jeans

HIGH WAIST JEANS - 7 for All Mankind
NAVY SWEATER VEST - Target
GRAY/NAVY STRIPED SHIRT - Bjeweled
BROWN BELT - Thrifted
WHITE WATCH - Sprout
FRINGE PURSE - Local boutique
Today Princess Sparkles let me know that she was having a "good day."  What that usually entails is NOT getting into trouble, having a special treat (like frozen yogurt or a popsicle), and/or doing something fun like going to a friend's house or the park.  Of course all this can change into a "bad day" in less than a second, if I tell her not to do something or say she can't have candy after she's already had a treat.

I was having trouble figuring out what to wear.  It's hot.  Real hot.  Okay, not blazing, but hot enough to just be slightly uncomfortable inside (since our AC isn't working properly).  But then I remembered seeing "Inspiration Monday" on Two Birds blog and decided I needed some fashion inspiration!

So here it is, Katie Holmes and her adorable high waist jeans.  Exciting, since I just bought a great new pair of high waist jeans at Loehmanns.  Though bad timing since just a few hours ago I sent those fabulous jeans away with my mom, Fair Isle, to be hemmed.  Oh well.  Luckily I have a second pair!

I think a good day fashion-wise for me is putting something together I hadn't thought of that looks good and makes me feel even better.  I really like these high waist jeans since they're relatively flattering.  I also like the navy vest because it tends to be slimming (good for hiding any extra stuff on my sides).  All together this outfit makes me feel great.  Guess that makes today a "good day!"
