DIY Fur Boots and Maternity Wrap Dress

"This is me when I was a baby.  Isn't that cool?"
Princess Sparkles loves being a big sister and tries to "babysit" Bucket when he's in his crib trying to sleep.  The other day I came out of the bathroom to find Princess Sparkles waving her baby picture in Bucket's face, telling him all about when she was his age.

WRAP DRESS - Motherhood Maternity (hand-me-down)
FUR BOOTS - Old Navy (with DIY fur by my mom)
Old Navy Boots, $9

I think the hardest thing about staying home for two weeks with the baby is I have absolutely no motivation to get dressed.  Since doing this blog I have always enjoyed putting together outfits, but suddenly I find myself in pajamas, or if I'm lucky, sweats.  And so I decided I'd post the last few maternity outfits I took pictures of.

These are the boots I got for $9 on clearance at Old Navy.  I wanted some fur boots and I thought my mom, Fair Isle, could make it happen.  She found these coyote tails my dad had given her over 20 years ago when he had gone hunting so she put them on my boots.  I thought they looked uniquely cute, though I will say the tails kinda creeped me out.  But at least they're being used.

I have to say I'm so lucky to have Fair Isle.  Not only does she make me feel better when I'm having contractions and about to give birth, but she also goes thrifting for me when I'm stuck at home and makes me things like fur boots.  Isn't that cool?

Florals with Black and a DIY Maternity Skirt

FLORAL SKIRT - Mimi Chica (Nordstrom Rack)
BLACK V-NECK T-SHIRT - Gap Maternity
ANIMAL PRINT NECKLACE - Jewelry Party
BRACELETS - Forever 21
BLACK HEELS - Guess

Monday's Inspiration - Elizabeth Olsen
Bath time is always fun time... though not for Camouflage and I.  That's because the girls love to splash and we often end up soaking wet.  The other night I got Pigtails ready for bed then I started cleaning the kitchen.  Then I heard laughter coming from the bathroom, where Princess Sparkles was still enjoying her bath fun.  So I went in there to find...Pigtails had climbed back in to the tub with her pajamas and diaper, soaked.  Sigh.

Pigtails in the bath
Today's "Inspiration Monday" from Two Birds is Elizabeth Olsen.  Lately I've found it slightly more difficult to do outfits with my maternity clothes.  It also doesn't help that I can't tuck anything in nor can I wear a pencil skirt.  So I went with an A-line floral skirt I bought at Nordstrom Rack in Honolulu for $9 and my maternity black tee.

I'm also linking up to Everybody, Everywear's "DIY" so I slipped on a "maternity skirt" my mom, Fair Isle, made (since I'm terrible at doing anything myself) from a tube top she thrifted.  She unstitched the built in bra from the top and flipped it up so it could go over my belly.  It's comfortable and works perfectly as a maternity cable knit skirt!  She made me one in black and in coral.

CORAL CABLE KNIT MATERNITY SKIRT - Express (Thrifted), DIY
FLOWER KNIT HAT - Made by my Mom
NUDE HEELS - Kenneth Cole Reaction
PIGTAILS - my very own DIY (with Camo's help)

Anyway, I love a link-up and despite having some technical difficulties making looks work with my maternity clothes, I will wear almost anything to put together the right outfit.  Though something I will NOT be wearing is wet clothes...unless of course it's after I've given the girls their bath.
