Plaid Jeans, Prabal Gurung for Target and a Happy Birthday

"Happy Birthday to Momma...
I live in a zoo, I smell like some-ping,"
Pigtails sang to me.
Each of my kids had their own version of the song.
"Happy Birthday to you, Cha-cha chicken!"
Princess Sparkles yelled out.
Even Bucket tried to sing, "Huh Pa Buh."

FLORAL DRESS - Prabal Gurung for Target
BLACK BOOTIES - Target

Here are a few outfits I've recently worn.  I found it fun wearing polka dots and plaid together.  The fringe booties I got from F21.  The second outfit I'm linking up with "Inspiration Monday" from Two Birds.  This floral Prabal Gurung for Target dress goes well with wedge booties.  I wore it with a leather jacket and pink lipstick.

I love mixing it up.  Pattern with pattern, edgy with girly.  It's just so much fun.  And I got most of this on clearance, including the Prabal Gurung dress for less than $15!  Huh pa buh to me!!!

Project Eighteen Motorcycle Jeans, Madras Skirt and Being Sexy

"Sexy?  We're not supposed to say that,"
Princess Sparkles said as she heard the word in a song on the radio.
A few weeks ago she had asked me what that word meant.
She caught me off guard so I just told her it was kinda an adult word.
"Radio, you are not talking nice," she said.
"In fact, you are being sexy."
Uh... Maybe I should've explained it's definition.

FRINGE HEELS - Qupid

MADRAS SKIRT - CaBi
STRIPED SHIRT - swapped
BEIGE WEDGES - Payless Shoes
EARRINGS - 99 cent depot

These are outfits from the week.  I recently had a clothing swap with friends and got both the lace and striped tops from my friend, Gingham.  The motorcycle jeans are from Anonymous and I decided to pair them with girly lace and sky high fringe heels.  The madras skirt is an oldie from a CaBi party and I decided to mix patterns with the stripes.  I'm linking that outfit up with Two Birds' "Inspiration Monday."

Princess Sparkles uses Eucerin as make-up

Lately, I've been trying not to shop so much.  Having the clothing swap with friends helped because I got new clothes without spending any money.  But then I went to visit my friend Fierce at Anonymous and purchased motorcycle jeans and blue skinnies.  But it's almost my birthday so I thought it was okay for me to be, as Princess Sparkles calls it, a little "sexy."

Stripes, Camouflage and FREE SUNGLASSES!

"I'm gonna be a fireman when I grow up,"
Princess Sparkles informed me as we drove around.
"What are you gonna be, [Pigtails]?"
Princess Sparkles asked her sister.
"Be a fireman too so we can work together."
Pigtails shook her head.
"When I grow up I'm gonna be a pretty girl. With a bow."

SWEATER - Narcisco Rodriguez for Kohl (hand-me-down)
CAMOUFLAGE PANTS - Old Navy
CAGE HEELS - Vince Camuto (thrifted)
SUNGLASSES - c/o Firmoo

Here are a couple outfits from the week.  The first was something inspired by "Inspiration Monday" from Two Birds.  I decided to wear my $19 BDG red jeans from Urban Outfitters with a striped blazer from the Loft.  To keep it from feeling too conservative I wore platforms and a t-shirt.  The second outfit is something I ran around in.  The sweater is a recent hand-me-down from my friend, Gingham.  And the shoes are Vince Camuto, thrifted new from Goodwill.

Recently, when the company Firmoo asked me to review a pair of sunglasses I was thrilled.  I LOVE SUNGLASSES!!!  I chose these green ones because I liked that they were neutral yet fun.  They also have small details that make them especially fabulous, like the ombre bottom of the frame and the cute little bow.  And right now Firmoo is offering you a FREE PAIR OF SUNGLASSES!  That's right, your first pair is free, (all you have to do is pay for shipping!).  They have a huge selection.  They also have prescription eyeglasses as well.  So hurry, go check out Firmoo and order your free pair.

The thing I love about sunglasses (besides that they look cute) is they're great for hiding things like wrinkles, bags and lack of make-up.  They also make a great headband when you're having a bad hair day.  And I really love these Firmoo sunglasses because although I'm a tired momma of three, they make me feel like a pretty girl (with a bow!).

Leather Maxi, Denim Vest and A Little Danger

"I'm in a hurry, so I'm not going to stop the car...
I'll just drive by [Fair Isle's] house slowly and you girls jump out,"
I told Princess Sparkles and Pigtails on the way to my mom's.
Pigtails nodded, Sparkles' furrowed her brow.
"Make sure you stay in a ball and roll when you hit the ground."
Then Sparkles smiled and laughed.
"Everything you say that's dangerous I won't believe. You're teasing!"
I told Sparkles she was too smart for me.
As for Pigtails, she seemed a bit disappointed.

T-SHIRT - New York and Co (swapped)
OMBRE DENIM VEST - Forever 21
BRACELET - J Crew (gifted)
FLORAL WEDGES - Chinese Laundry (thrifted)

This past weekend I brought down some of my spring clothes.  I was excited to find my ombre denim vest and decided to pair it with a black leather maxi my mom, Fair Isle, thrifted.  I also wore some girly hawaiian print wedges I got at the Goodwill.  The beautiful bracelet is a present from Argyle and Khakis (my sister and brother-in-law).  Linking this outfit up to "Inspiration Monday" from Two Birds.

Pigtails and Sparkles get a hug from a python...

I've been in a leather wearing mood lately, and where better to wear a black leather maxi than church?  I love pairing something edgy with something girly.   It just feels... Dangerous.

Polka Dots, Chambray and a "Slumber" Party

"We're having a slumber party and we need to have pajamas on,"
Princess Sparkles told me as she and Pigtails emerged from their room in outfits.
I asked her about the sunglasses and hat she was also wearing.
"Those are just costume stuff.  It feels like a real party when you dress up."
After I put the girls to bed I kept hearing frivolity coming from their room.
"Good night, girls.  Go to bed."
"But we're having a slumber party," Princess Sparkles said.
I told her that slumber meant to sleep.

Here are a couple outfits from the week.  The polka dot skirt was something I chose from the spring line of eShaktieShakti is awesome because they have tons of adorable clothes to choose from, and they will customize your clothing for you.  It's like having your own personal tailor at the click of a button.  The polka dots on the skirt are different colors which make it match with almost anything.

The girls in their "slumber" party attire

There's something fabulous about having tailored clothing.  They fit better which also means they look better.  And when I dress up in clothes that look good, it feels like I'm at a party, even when I'm just "slumbering" with the kiddos!
