Pattern Mixing - Stripes and Florals

"Who do you look like?  Mommy?  Daddy?  Grandma?"
I asked Pigtails the other day who she resembled as we looked in the mirror.
Pigtails looked at me, then smiled and said, "Pigtails!"
She's right.  She looks like herself.



Monday's Inspiration - Reese Witherspoon
STRIPED DRESS - Libertine for Target, $17
NAVY VEST - Target, $6
RED SKINNY BELT - Forever 21
FLORAL WEDGES - Chinese Laundry (thrifted), $9



Today's "Inspiration Monday" from Two Birds is a pregnant Reese Witherspoon.  I love stripes and was thrilled to whip out the blue and green dress I got from Libertine for Target the second time it came around.  I even waited and got it on clearance for $17 (not quite as cheap as the other ones I got for $10, but I didn't want to miss this one!).  I paired it with a blue vest instead of a sweater since it's been really warm here.  The floral wedges are ones I thrifted new at GW.

I love doing "Inspiration Monday" because it's fun to use someone else's outfit as inspiration and I don't have to think too hard.  And although it would be nice to have the closets these celebrities have, it's fun to work with the thrifted and inexpensive pieces I have.  It keeps me looking like myself!

    I like that you paired a red belt with the green dress. In my head it would look Christmas-y, but in reality it looks really fresh. Hmmm. . . I'm mentally shopping my closet right now for those colors. :)

    What a fun take on Reese's look! I love that the sweater vest is longer than the dress, and you mixed patterns with the floral wedges. Really cute!

    What a fun dress...the colors are fabulous. Looks great with a vest...just the perfect outfit for summer. i love it with your floral shoes. Pigtails is always saying the funniest things...she is ultra cute!

    I remember that dress from Target and how I didn't get it! Such sadness I feel since it look wonderful on you!

    gosh..I love you what you wore more than reese's :D

    Great color combo claire and happy mothers' day!!! :) it's refreshing to learn that some moms out there love to shop for clothes. haha. If I were to tell my mom that, she'd say..I prefer new curtains or new plates..hahaha :)

    and about baby's laughs..gosh..I love those..especially if my presence is the reason why they're smiling.
