Winter White and How NOT to Scare Your Child

"Boo!"  Pigtails exclaimed when she saw me wearing a facial mask in the bathroom.  At first I didn't realize what she was talking about and then I remembered how I jokingly said that to her the first time I was wearing some mask and she looked at me strangely.  She had seemed a tad frightened by my appearance ("Boo" is probably not the right thing to say when trying NOT to scare your 20-month old, but she found it amusing).  Later when I wiped off the mask she seemed relieved that it was indeed me.

"Inspiration Monday" from Two Birds is Kelly Ripa.  I've been wanting to wear a white blazer in a fall appropriate way, so I paired it with a bright tank, black pants (something I find challenging to wear for some reason), a Missoni for Target scarf, and Cynthia Vincent for Target gladiator heels. 

I love winter white but it's intimidating to me.  However, I've seen some magazines pics that have inspired me to try it.  I guess the only real scary thing about white (or "Boo" as Pigtails calls it) is the possibility of getting touched by little dirty hands!!!

    Wearing a white blazer in the fall/winter is great. Love the pop of color and the scarf is fantastic!

    I never have been brave enough to wear white, regardless of season.

    Love your scarf! I think you are brave to wear white with kids, I don't even trust myself with white most of the time, and all I have is a white tee! Actually I want to add in some white blouses, I've been looking for them.

    I totally understand your issues with the white jacket- I bought one a couple of years ago from Kaliko and it just didn't look right with anything so in the end I gave it to a friend. Yours however looks really nice!

    white can be hard to pull off in the fall/winter, but i think you did it wonderfully here. you look super fabulous! i love that bright green on you. and your stories about your kiddos always make me laugh. they are so cute!

    I always like your inspiration interpretations. You take the inspiration and made it your own. I love the white jacket with the colorful scarf and lime green top, it has a stunning effect. I like the continuity of the lime green from the top to the scarf. Very nice!

    Love the color choices today. The scarf pulls it all together beautifully. I'm glad I'm not the only one who finds it hard to wear black pants. I can't see why people think they're such a staple!
