Short Shorts and High Heels - Inspiration Monday

This past weekend we went to a fabulous party my best friend, Cardi, and her family were throwing at her parents' house.  Cardi's parents have the most amazing backyard.  It has a pool, a golf putting area with sand pits, a huge slide, hills to roll down and a half basketball court.  It's like a dream play area for kids and adults alike.  Princess Sparkles and Pigtails were indeed in heaven and so were her parents...

That is until Pigtails, after indulging in a gigantic meal of fruit, carne asada and rice, decided to take a ride down the enormous slide with a newly full diaper.  I looked on horrified, noticing the streak of poop squishing out and following her down the slide.  Yuck!  I quickly grabbed her and stopped all other kids from going down the slide, then alerted Camouflage who cleaned up the slide while I cleaned up Pigtails.  The slide was probably the cleanest it's ever been after Camo was through with it.

For "Inspiration Monday" the ladies at Two Birds chose a picture of Olivia Palermo.  I'm still not quite sure who Olivia Palermo is, but I often see her in my fashion magazines.  I didn't exactly have similar pieces so I just went with some short shorts, heels and a flowy top.  I bought this top at Loehmanns.  It had caught my eye but what sealed the deal was while trying it on in the dressing room another woman came up to me and asked me where I had found it.  There's nothing like someone else wanting it to make you buy it up!

I love wearing shorts and heels.  It might be one of my favorite looks for going out during the summer (now if only I went out - haha).  I love how short shorts and heels can give the illusion of long legs.  Long is almost always a good thing...except when it's a slide and your kid has a full diaper.

    I love this look on you. I really admire your signature pose in photo one. It is similar to photo one of your last post with your white pants which by the way look great on you. Anyway...the story about the diaper is hysterical. BOL, short for busted out laughing. I made that up because I am getting tired of LOL which I still use on occasion.     I love Olivia Palermo's style - she's pretty great - and so is your reinterpretation of her look. I love that top and your legs look fan-frickin-tastic.

    Also, the slide incident. It must of been mortifying, but I'm not going to lie, I laughed. How horrible but such a great story!

    I'm pretty sure she had something to do with a Lauren Conrad/Whitney Port reality show (but don't ask me how I know that...). I do love her style, though :)

    I love that top and the heels are perfect! Olivia has a fantastic sense of style, I really don't think I've ever seen her not look great...this is horrible but I believe she is an actress!

    great looking top! I love the print and colors, the shoes are fabulous too. You always have the right outfit for any inspiration! You're a fashionista moma! Haha...I know the diaper and poop thing..so glad it's over for my boys. Once my son was walking around happily, someone walking behind him spotted something on the floor, what else but poop. It fell out from his diaper and through his jeans. We had a disgusting time washing his jeans.

    wow - I just LOVE your top. It's awesome! And your heels rock. Olivia Palermo's outfit is great too (love her jacket and the sparkly shorts) but I think your shades, top and heels are unbeatable! (plus, and this is only a guess, more affordable)

    Heyyyyy, I went along with this challenge and didn't even know it. I love the short booty shorts with high-freakin' heels trend. It is one of my favorites because it shows off my legs and butt. It's okay -- I have a nice butt.
