Bright Skinny Jeans and a Personal Trainer

Bucket really wants me to get in shape.
Although I've lost a lot of the pregnancy weight, I've hit a plateau.
When that happens, the best way for me to get it off is to jog
(Because I'm not going to diet, I just love food too much!!!)
I decided to start that process today, and it hurt.  Bad.
I was so out of shape, out of breath, out of energy.
I would run for a mile, then walk for a quarter.
But Bucket wasn't having it.
Whenever I'd start walking, he'd start crying.
It was like having a really tough personal trainer!

PINK SKINNIES - Target, $19 (exact)
GREEN NURSING TANK - Glamourmom (gifted)
NAVY CARDIGAN - Express, $15
WHITE WATCH - Sprout, $50
NECKLACE - GS Lillian (gifted)
FLORAL WEDGES - Chinese Laundry (thrifted), $9

An "old school" french manicure
Essie - Lapis of Luxury, Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear - Pacific Blue
I'm obsessed with my bright colored skinnies and when Target had their sale last week I bought these pink babies along with some green ones (and leopard...and white).  And when Tammy at Silverstyle decided to do "Trending Through the Decades: Brights," I knew I had to wear these!  Only thing is I wasn't sure what colors to wear with them.  But then I noticed Bucket's cute little striped onesie sitting on the floor, I decided to use it for inspiration.  I topped it off with a GS Lillian statement necklace and my thrifted floral print wedges from GW.

I know the half moon nails are what's hot, but I don't have any of those little stickers to help me do the new trend so I decided to do an "old school" french manicure with two shades of blue.  I was pleasantly surprised how they turned out!

Fashion Inspiration: Bucket in his striped onesie
Since I'm still working on getting rid of the post-pregnancy belly (believe me, I suck that baby in so hard while taking blog pics I almost pass out), I like wearing skinny jeans.  If I could, I would have every single color (and more) on Bucket's onesie.  And with the workout that little guy is putting me through, maybe in a few months I won't have to suck it in!

Plaid Blazer and a Precious Boy

"He's so cute, my precious boy."
That's what Princess Sparkles says in baby talk to Bucket.
Sparkles really loves her baby brother.
She holds him, pats him and gives him his pacifier.
She's a really good big sister.
Now only if she could teach him to sleep more and cry less!

PLAID BLAZER - Merona (thrifted)
BLUE SKINNY JEANS - Yaso (via Macys)
SHOES - Naturalizer (thrifted)

Thank goodness for "Inspiration Monday" from Two Birds.  It gave me the perfect excuse to wear my thrifted blazer.  I found both the blazer and the shoes at the Goodwill by Fair Isle's house.  I liked the blazer so much I even paid full thrift store price ($10) for it, then had Fair Isle add some elbow patches!  I've never had Naturalizer shoes before but the criss-cross top caught my eye and after wearing them I have to say they are very comfortable!

The proud big sister!

It's definitely not as easy to do things like thrifting or going out to dinner (or heck, eat dinner at home in peace) with three kids.  But hopefully someday soon (okay, not that soon) Princess Sparkles will be old enough to take care of the other two and I'll have more free time!

Stripes and Bandages

"Close one."
Pigtails said as she flashed her dimpled smile after falling down.
My middle child runs into walls, tumbles off chairs, hits her head on tables.
She always has bruises, bumps and scrapes.
Sometimes I wish she had a tad more fear.
But at least she always picks herself up and continues on her way.

YELLOW SKINNY JEANS - Fire Colored Denim Skinny Leg Jeans
GREEN AND WHITE STRIPED TANK - American Eagle
WHITE CORDOUROY JACKET - Rubbish
NECKLACE, RING, EARRINGS - Cynde Daniels
SARAH STRIPE WEDGE - Payless Shoes

I'm finishing off "Super Stripes Week," the fashion challenge from Megan Mae Daily and Casual Chic Kiki with a striped green tank and my new striped wedges.  I had seen some wedges like this for $75 and wanted them.  Then I found the Payless ones that were on sale for $20!  I had to snatch them up.  They even have some cute dark pink ones online.  The yellow skinny jeans I got from Nordstrom Rack (not Target, can you believe it?).

Pigtails models her stripes and bandaged chin
I'm obviously obsessed with skinny jeans.  These ones were actually the first pair I bought (this year, at least), but I will say I have to be really careful what panties I wear.  Today I wore polka dot ones and I realized I could totally see them through my jeans.  Luckily I caught it before I left.  Phew.  Close one.

Pastels, Stripes and a Baby Boy Who Loves Pink

Bucket is learning to love pink.
Despite having boy clothes, there are still other "girly" things we have.
Like his pastel swaddles, bibs, towels and burp cloths.
Luckily he doesn't mind.
Because with 2 sisters I'm sure he'll be wearing lots of Princess costumes.

WHITE SKINNY JEANS, PINK LOAFERS, NURSING TANK - Target
GRAY/WHITE STRIPED CARDIGAN - TJ Maxx
AQUA SCARF - Heavenly Treasures
PINK CUFF - Made by my mom

Today I wanted to participate in two link ups:  Silverstyle's "Trending Through the Decades: Pastels," and Megan Mae Daily's and Casual Chic Kiki's "Fashion Challenge: Super Stripes Week."  Luckily I was able to pull off both!  The cuff was made by my mom and I love it because it's pink but it has tough looking studs on it.  The white skinnies are one pair of the many I got from Target since they're having their denim sale!

This snuggle saurus LOVES his pink burp cloth!!!

I didn't think wearing pastels would be all that challenging.  But as I dug in my spring clothes bins I realized I didn't have all that many pieces to choose from.  Maybe I need to go shopping or better yet, borrow something from Bucket!

Chevron Maxi Skirt and A Flight to China

"Come on, Pigtails, we're naughty.  Let's go to China."
The other day I scolded the girls and this is what Princess Sparkles reacted.
I couldn't help but laugh.  Then I asked her why China and she told me,
"Because I've never been there and they have pandas.  I like pandas."

MAXI SKIRT, GRAY WEDGE BOOTS - Old Navy
RED NURSING TANK - Glamourmom
BRONZE JACKET - H&M
NECKLACE - GS Lillian

Today's "Inspiration Monday" from Two Birds is Olivia Wilde in a chevron maxi.  I was tempted to wear my Missoni for Target maxi dress but it's too hard with the baby so I opted for my Old Navy maxi skirt.  I was excited to whip out the H&M faux leather jacket since I forgot about it in the back of my closet.

Princess Sparkles and Pigtails flying their "airplane"

I'm really excited for spring.  I can't wait to wear more bright colors (especially after spending most of my pregnancy in neutrals).  In fact, I just went to Target and went a little crazy on the colorful skinnies (they're on sale this week!!!).  I guess maybe I should pack up and go to China with the girls.

Cordovan Cowboy Boots and Mismatched Shoes

Pigtails loves shoes.
(I'm not sure where she gets that from)
Sometimes I find her wearing Princess Sparkles' boots,
Camo's flip flops, or even my platform heels.
But wearing other peoples' shoes gets boring.
Now she's moved on to wearing multiple shoes at the same time!
It's a fashion statement.

STRIPED NURSING TANK TOP - Motherhood Maternity
CREAM CARDIGAN, BLACK LEGGINGS - Old Navy
NECKLACE - GS Lillian
CORDOVAN COWBOY BOOTS - Thrifted

I've been wearing simple outfits lately.  But now that I have an infant I have to be practical with my outfit choices.  Not only do I need to be able to nurse easily, but I also want to be comfy.  This nursing top is great because it has an elastic neck you can just pull down.  The necklace is another fave I ordered from Shelly at GS Lillian.  And the cordovan cowboy boots are thrifted from Goodwill.  I saw them and immediately fell in love!

Pigtails models her fashion statement.

I usually don't buy used shoes from Goodwill since they always seem to have brand new ones, but these cowboy boots were just too good to pass up!  I can't believe someone gave up a treasure like these babies.  And with all the great shoe purchases I've been making at GW, maybe I should be wearing two different shoes at one time!!!

Mint Green Flying Monkey Skinny Jeans and a Royal Yawn

"Mommy, I just did a royal yawn," Princess Sparkles told me.
"A what?"
"A royal yawn."
Princess Sparkles yawned again.
She explained to me that a royal yawn keeps her from not being tired.
Maybe it's her way of telling me she doesn't want to nap.
MINT GREEN JEANS - Flying Monkey (Anonymous LA)
GRAY MOTO JACKET - H&M
BLACK NURSING TANK - Target
CREAM SCARF - JC Penney
BLACK BOOTS - BCBGeneration

Monday's Inspiration - Julianne Hough
I decided to pull out my favorite mint green Flying Monkey jeans I got from Anonymous LA just in time for St. Patrick's Day (and Everybody, Everywear's "Green With Envy").  And because they're skinnies I figured it would work for Two Birds' "Monday Inspiration" photo too!   They don't look it, but these jeans are really comfortable and they come in a bunch of colors!

Princess Sparkles re-energizes herself!  No nap needed.
This past weekend I pulled down some of my non-maternity clothes to put back into my closet.  I really needed a "new" wardrobe to give me a little fashion inspiration.  Bucket is a month old now, and I'm still adjusting to life with three.  It's pretty exhausting.  Maybe I should "royal yawn" more.

Tribal Print Blazer and a Birthday!

"Cool!  Aw-sum!"
That's what Pigtails says when she likes things.
Pigtails turned 2 on Tuesday and she was thrilled.
She liked her cake, the attention, having family and friends around.
But what she really thought was "cool, aw-sum" were the gifts.
Everytime she'd unwrap one, it needed to be opened immediately for play.
In fact, we had to force her to open the next one.
Then that one had to be opened immediately.
Pigtails isn't used to being the center of attention, and she appreciated it!

TRIBAL PRINT JACKET - Forever 21, $10
BLACK NURSING TANK - Glamourmom
WHITE MATERNITY JEANS - James
CUFF - Heavenly Treasures
NECKLACE - Cynde Daniels
WEDGES - Bamboo (Thrifted)
Here's another tribal print, this time it's a jacket from Forever 21 I took a chance on and ordered online during a BOGO sale.  I'm so glad I did, because I love it.  The wedges are another thrifted GW find, they were new and just too cute to pass up.  I seriously buy a new pair of shoes every week.  But for less than $10, how can I not?!  While I was snapping a photo of my shoes, Pigtails decided her shoes needed to have their close-up as well :)

Pigtails waits for her 3 friends to arrive for her birthday party.

I know I've said it before, but I'm obsessed with tribal prints.  I can't help it.  They're just so fun!  I'll tell you what else I'm obsessed with, my maternity jeans.  Who would've known that the stretchy stuff that holds them over a pregnant belly would be great for holding in a post-natal flabby one!!!  How "cool, aw-sum" is that?!!!
